Speed up your border check with the Travel to Europe app. Developed by the European Union, Travel to Europe allows you to pre-register your personal information for the Entry/Exit System (EES) in advance. Currently, you can use the Travel to Europe app when entering Sweden, where it supports passport data, facial image and entry questionnaire. The other European countries using the EES may make the app available later. The specific functionalities offered may also vary from country to country. Secure and simple to use, pre-registration with the app can be done within 72 hours before arriving in or leaving a European country using the EES. Who can use the app? You can use the app if you are a non-EU national travelling for a short stay to a European country using the EES, provided that you have: • A biometric passport • iPhone 8 or later with iOS 16 or later • NFC (Near-Field Communication) functionality, in order to read the passport’s chip • A frontal camera for the selfie capture You cannot use the app if you hold a residence permit or a long-stay visa issued by a European country using the EES. Create a new journey by selecting the European country using the EES you are arriving in or leaving from 2. Select the border crossing point and the time of your expected arrival 3. Scan the personal details page and the chip of your passport 4. Take a selfie to confirm your identity 5. Answer a few questions about your travel plans 6. Optional: add co-travellers using steps 1-5 7. Submit your journey 8. Receive a confirmation that your journey has been accepted 9. Go to the border crossing point and follow the border guard’s instructions Using the app does not replace checks by the border authorities and does not guarantee entry into the European countries using the EES. The final decision on entry can only be taken by the local border authorities based on whether you fulfil the entry conditions. More information about the EES: https://travel-europe.europa.eu/

Only useful is you're traveling through Sweden or Portugal. Really? Out of all of the EU it's limited to THAT?! What good is this app?! No wonder people are missing flights.
The only 5 star reviews are fake. It appears that this an example of a well-connected person getting the government to agree to let them play around and make an App for a very important function.
This app is terrible! It lets me add a journey and then never prompts me to add my passport information. I can’t find anywhere in the app to add it. And then when I try to report a problem to get help there is an error message… useless
Nothing works
Very easy and quick to fill out
What a joke this system proved to be. Touted as a time saving global entry system, it is actually a scam that someone in the EU legal community should look into (for example who is financially benefiting from this system?) With 2 to 3 hour wait times this is definitely not providing benefits to travelers. Why would I have to show my passport over six times in order to pass through a system that should be tied to a simple facial recognition program? Journalists should dig into questions such as why are there so few machines available to scan passports, why does the app fail to recognize the name of the Lisbon airport and force the user to abandon pre-registration at step 4 of 5, why are there no attendants to help travelers with the technical steps to complete registration that cannot be accomplished through the app, and why do the on site terminals direct travelers to go to a manual passport verification window? Someone is laughing all the way to the bank and its not the hundreds of travelers being stressed out and taken advantage of by this scam.
Couldn’t get the exit portal to work
The app does not search for departure airports. Stuck on step 4 of 5.
My wife was not able to get the app to accept her selfie. Mine was accepted in the same light and position. It would be nice to be able to retry. An overview of the process would help as well. It was clear about the submission dates.
