The new app update might the worst design I have ever seen. I hope everyone responsible is fired. I can’t figure out if something is favorited because it puts a slash through it when I click to favorite. I can’t find a schedule for my route. I click to save my home location and it says there are no options when I live 5 min walking distance from a train. In about two minutes trying to find a schedule I encountered multiple bugs where my input was cleared or it showed buses when I only clicked to see trains. Did they even test the app? I literally cannot figure out how to find a schedule. The old app was bad, but at least it worked.
You have to go through more of the app to finally view the bus schedules that you previously had marked as a favorite. Port Authority Bus Terminal gives me issues on viewing the next bus. I used to be able to favorite a route of a specific bus at a specific stop and view when the next bus would be arriving. Now you can't even do that. You favorite a route and it make you click on the bus stop just to show every single bus that goes to that specific bus stop instead of the one you're looking for. They need to update this recent update. Also there's no dark mode? Polish this asap! Trash. Before it was much better. Don't believe these bs 5 star reviews.
BUGGY APP After a few days, I thought they might update the app. No fixes implemented. While the schedule focuses on the departure times and station and in-train announcements also. Refer to trains by their departure times, departure vision no longer shows scheduled departure times. The app simply update the time when the train is late without no reference to the originally scheduled departure time at each station. When you want to search for schedules, it excludes trains that are close to the ‘departure at’ time. Horrible. Can’t find the schedules. Seems to only show departure vision. It was valuable to see schedule with the stops in between. That’s no longer available. On the departure vision page, it does not show the scheduled departure time. Most often passengers associate a train by the departure time. Not by the train number. The favorites of Home and work don’t work. I have tried multiple times to save the starting station and destination station. But Everytime I choose either of them, it seems to pick the nearest address as the starting location and the current time. Instead of the saved locations and time. Trip planner does not show all the train options. The previous app was far better. There was no need to upgrade to a buggy app.
Can’t easily pull up schedule like before
The updated app is poorly designed. Tasks like a simple train schedule require multiple steps. The prior version was far superior. Change for the sake of change.
Incredible effort to make it harder that it already was to find the next bus leaving. I don’t care about the other buses leaving the same stop just show me the bus route I already entered
This new version does not accept my ID, does not accept my password (it locked me out) and does not allow me to open a new account or activate a new download of the app because it does not send a verification code. I have been forced to buy paper tickets. I used the prior version for years without incudent. Please make this new version usable!
Redesign is simply awful. All it did was change the look of the menu, but it functionally, it worsened in every aspect.
The recent update has made the app much harder to use compared to the previous version. The old layout was intuitive, clean, and user-friendly, while the new design feels more complicated and less efficient.
The new app removed one of the most useful and underrated features: the ability to quickly see details about the train you’re currently riding. That feature made it easy to answer simple but important questions like, “Does this train stop at XYZ station?” or “Is this the correct train?” Without it, riders are left guessing or scrambling to look up schedules while already onboard. I’ve lost count of how many times people relied on that information during a trip. Removing it adds unnecessary confusion and makes the app less practical for everyday commuters. Please consider bringing this feature back. It genuinely improved the rider experience.
With the new update I can’t load the 137 bus schedule going from Dorado to Port Authority. On top of that even when it does function properly it doesn’t show you the entire schedule like you can see on the rail schedule. It will only show you 3 route times within a window. It’s such a pain and will drastically change the results if you change your time by 10 minutes. I just want to see the entire days worth of trips in one place. But if that’s asking too much I’d just like to see the schedule in general. Right now I only see an error message saying My Bus error <p>An error has occurred while processing your request. Please retry in a few minutes.</ p>
I don’t know whose idea was to replace the old mobile app, but the most recent app is a pure disaster. It takes so much time to find something, that it’s easier to skip the trip or go to the cashier as if it’s 1998.
