Empower - Your ride, your way

Hi Empower Team, I’m an Uber driver in Houston and recently started using Empower. I really like the app because it feels better for both drivers and riders. One suggestion: instead of focusing mostly on reaching customers, focus more on drivers. Drivers meet hundreds of riders every week, so we can naturally promote the app and even help riders download it on the spot. I’ve already told many riders about Empower myself. Another idea is to hire people to visit airport waiting lots like IAH and Hobby, where many rideshare drivers wait for rides. Even one person handing out flyers to drivers could help spread the app very quickly across Houston, and the same strategy could work in other cities too. Just wanted to share this idea because I think Empower has a lot of potential.

I started using this app because I was told that it was affordable option than using Uber and Lyft. After downloading the app, they said I had a promo in my first ride was a good price. I assume that this would not continue being all wonderful cheap prices, but I will still be getting a few dollars off. I would book a ride and it will say for example, your ride is only $20 today but then I will check my card statement and I was actually charged $25 .. how are you advertising an app that’s supposed to be cheap and the price that y’all are showing are all fake. I used to add four times and every time the price that was advertised wasn’t the real price every time I clicked my card I will get charged way more than they told me I would be

How is this app supposed to be competitive when the drivers arrive when they want, have smelly cars and the prices are barely discounted smh I’d take reliability over price any day

I value my life but the drivers that this company has driving for them is ridiculous. They drive like bats out of hell. They speed and they don’t care. On my very last ride with this company we almost got into two accidents. Not one but two. I will tell everyone that I know to never use this company.

They be hiring anybody

Every driver I’ve had I’ve asked if they prefer empower over uber/lyft. Immediately they have all said an enthusiastic yes. I am more than happy myself to pay less, get just as good rides, and put more money in drivers’ pockets. Definitely get this app!

The prices quoted on rides are significantly lower than the prices charged to your card after the ride has already been booked. Additionally, the time quoted for drivers to arrive at the pickup location are always wrong and much shorter then actual times.

The app shows a lower price at first, but tolls are not included. Once you actually book the ride, the total price increases by more than $10. Very misleading pricing. I do not recommend this app
