Purchase functionality doesn’t work on newer phones due to Siri shortcut at the bottom of the screen

You can do only some of the things you need to, and will run into limitations. Ones I have hit: 1) went through the reset password process, except that it never sent me an email. This must be a backend issue. I talked with Support on the phone who said they would send me an email, but it never came through. Then I tried again a few few days later and it magically appeared. 2) while attempting to purchase tickets on the app (something you think they would want to make as easy as possible) the purchase button is tiny and in position directly under the iPhone’s bottom bar. Attempting to click the purchase button an iPhone will interpret it as a click on the bottom bar of your phone making it essentially impossible to click purchase. I thought I would just purchase a ticket online instead, but that is not possible; you can only get it on the app, at a station, or on the train. This has got to be losing Ventra money!!

If I could give a lower rating, I absolutely would. I was able to purchase a ticket as I got off my Amtrak train but unfortunately couldn’t open the app again to activate it because the app would not open. I closed every other app, restarted my phone and still had trouble. My first time in Chicago and I had to get off the train because the faulty app took my money but wouldn’t let me use the ticket. I want my money back!

It’s the worst app I’ve ever had to use. No customer service or support for your problems. It glitches out way too often for a ‘commuter app’ and gets zero updates or maintenance. The app overcharges for one-way trips ($5, should be $2.50).

Metra trains are notoriously unreliable, and the app only makes the experience worse by lacking real-time tracking. Over the last seven days of commuting, my train has been late five times - delays ranging from 5 minutes to more than 1.5 hours. Let that sink in: passengers are expected to be on time, but Metra isn’t. It’s 2026. An overpriced service with inconsistent performance and an app that can’t even provide accurate live updates is simply unacceptable.

I have two transit cards on my account, I confirmed through my browser, but the app doesn’t show either one so I can’t add them to my Apple wallet

What in the actual four letter word is wrong with you people? You know by now that your app is not working with the iPhone because the purchase button is inaccessible, and yet you clearly ignore every single complaint about it, which happens to be every single 1 star complaint on here. Where is the money going when you’re too inept to fix something a teenage coder can fix in 5 minutes. Get off your lazy overpaid rear ends and fix this issue or I’ll get a class action lawsuit headed your way.

Took me forever to sign up. Then forever to use the machine at the el stop. Attendant totally unhelpful.

App constantly crashes or has trouble connecting with full cell coverage. Frequently signs out for no reason

I’m not sure why this app is rated so low. I haven’t had any issues with it so far. It’s good at giving me live updates of all the Metra and CTA transportation. I always buy my tickets and passes through there and have had no issue connecting my physical Ventra card to the app. Love it!
