The official app for Citi Bike, NYC’s bike share system. Citi Bike consists of a fleet of specially designed, sturdy and durable bikes that are locked into a network of docking stations throughout the city. Our bikes can be unlocked from one station and returned to any other station in the system, making them ideal for one-way trips. Bike share is a greener, healthier way to get around — whether you’re commuting, running errands, meeting friends, or exploring in a new city. The Citi Bike app gives you access to thousands of bikes in your area — unlock and pay directly from the app and get going. The Citi Bike app also shows upcoming public transit departures, including MTA subway trains, shuttles, local, limited, & express buses, LIRR commuter rail trains, Metro-North commuter rail trains, PATH rapid transit trains, Bee-Line local & express buses, NYC Ferries, the Staten Island Ferry, the AirTrain JFK, the AirTrain Newark, the Roosevelt Island Tramway, and NJT commuter rail trains, light rail trains, & buses. The app makes it impossible to report issues, each ride is scammed by adding one to three minutes, no more option to add minutes if a dock is full, shows systematically wrong information (especially in the last update). You end up circling for 20 minutes to find a parking spot after a 10 minute ride. Very frustrating and looks purposefully hostile to user.
over $5 for a 12 minute ride is not affordable - a return commute, for example between Brooklyn and manhattan would cost well over $10 which is almost twice as expensive as a subway/bus commute and that’s for a non powered bike.
All I want to do is find a location where they have Citi bikes and it keeps asking me for start and end location. When I enter info for the areas I’d like to find the bikes in, it tells me to re-enter my start and end locations—even in areas where I know there are Citi bikes.
- Poor bike coverage where they are actually useful - App keeps showing available bikes and not able to unlock them - ebikes have drastically increased in price (even with membership) while they also slowed them down even more than regular bikes
Its been three days and I am unable to unlock bikes. I talked to your customer service but it was a waste. Why am I paying the annual membership?
This app has too many bugs with payment and also I can never find bikes because they’re all broken or charging
App is broken and bikes do not unlock
I’ve been using this for a few weeks but the last three days it has given me me issue unlocking my bike, I scan the QR and it just spins and spins and spins and never goes to unlock. No help in the app whatsoever.
For TWO WEEKS in a row, available bike numbers HAVE NOT reflected the IRT available numbers. This has caused 20 min delays in my commute now two separate times. For over $200 a year, we deserve better. No reason the app should be this glitchy. 0.
Now when I need to dock a bike the app no longer shows how many docks are open at each station making it very difficult to dock quickly. It shows the amount of bikes available not open docks. This used to work fine for many years I'm not sure what changed and it's definitely a huge bug. Please fix asap as I rely on this app daily
