So helpful for mom's first second or third!
I found transitioning to solid food to be SO stressful (esp with a baby with food allergies). This app was a lifeline for me. Keeping track of the foods we tried, any reactions, and checking to see how to prepare each new food kept me sane. Will use this again for any future babies!
Starting solids with our little guy was the most intimidating journey. Our pediatrician recommended solid starts and it was a game changer! I loved being able to easily look up a food and see how to present it to my child. Tracking allergies was amazingly easy on the app too. For a little guy who refused purées, we would be lost without this app. Also we loved the recipes!
If you’re looking for a free source this would not be totally it. Yes there is some good info in this app but a GIANT portion of it is hidden by pay walls and I’m not paying $20 a month for an app as IMO that’s pretty expensive. *RESPONSE* I’m well aware of X-ing out and navigating the database, you’re not understanding that in order to gain access to MANY other things in this app, including being able to click options under “meals with this ingredient”, being able to watch a video of preparation or how to feed to a baby - that it’s behind a paywall and the paywall isn’t super reasonably priced. $100 for the year or $20 a month is crazy. I don’t even spend $20 a month for any of my subscription apps including streaming apps. If the app was tiered better, and the monthly cost was so high I’d actually consider subscribing. You’re not listening to everyone when they are making you aware of the out of touch price point. All you do is tell them the food database is free and to just ignore when the app is telling you “hey you have to pay to access this”……

I have had this app for almost 5 years, downloaded it with my first. I now have my 3rd almost 7 months and I use it daily! Gives me piece of mind and good ideas for meals as well!
I love being able to turn to the Solid Starts app when I can’t remember what is and isn’t ok for our baby. I also love the comfort that professionals put this together. Even the free version is extremely helpful!
I love how I can always have a meal idea at hand for my baby
I reached out to support and they claim their app isn't only baby-led weaning, but it is what they recommend you do. Even their purée recipes say to let your baby feed themselves. They emailed me and said it was ultimately my decision, but their way is the best way. There are recipes for purées hence the 2 stars, but I wish they were more forthcoming in their approach for new moms. I wish I could get my money back.

I used to love this app and used it for my 2 year old. When I downloaded it 2 years ago, it was $10 a year, now it’s $99 a year. Can we stop preying on moms just trying to do the right things for their babies. What’s with the greed?!
