User Reviews
This just isn’t what I expected. I wanted them to be able to scroll over the word and hear the sound to help them sound it out and make sure they got it right. Instead the boys just scroll through and completed the lessons without saying the words because they figured out the buttons. I might as well just have them read a book in front of me. I was looking for something where they could learn independently, during the summer while I was at work, but they just pretended to complete the lessons because they figured out how the buttons worked to get through the lessons quickly.
This is so educational.
We seriously loved everything about this! We started with this app when my son was four, and we finished all 99 lessons over the course of about a year. By the end, my five year old was a READER! Before he even started kindergarten, he was able to read full picture books with relative ease! My only complaint is that I wish there were more lessons that began removing some of the supports so that the kids could become accustomed to reading without them (lines above long vowels, arch connecting digraphs, etc.) Great program that I highly recommend as both a parent and an elementary school teacher!
My daughter started this when she was 4 but we really started taking it serious at 5. She is definitely reading! And enjoys doing the lessons! And my 1yr old is already recognizing letters and sounds and sings the phonics song! 1000/10 I love this app, especially as a homeschooling mom
This app helped my son read at 5 years old. The way they teach phonics is very similar to toddlers can read if you know you know, and now my son can read with out the app. As a Christian I dislike some of the content with witches or monsters and I will have my son skip those acticbut other than that…. Yeah this app is great
I started the lessons when daughter was in VPK . Never pushed too many a week. She maintained advanced learning skills over her classmates throughout kindergarten. I feel that this application helped a lot. It made learning fun. I especially loved the last lesson . We were surprised by the final book. Super cute!
This app was a game changer for me! Within 5 minutes of using the app my 2 year old son was able to identify a letter for the first time ever!
It’s a great app for the most part. It’s is very engaging and intuitive which are probably its greatest features. However, I have a problem with the way some of the phonics are pronounced. The two biggest ones for me are the letter L being pronounced “ul” and the letter R being pronounced “er”. I think these words should be pronounced “luh” and “ruh” ideally removing the “uh” sound. “Ul” and “er” are typically pronounced at the back end of a word i.e. “milk” and “bigger”. The letters M and N are definitely on the fence with its pronunciation but at least they are intuitive to my baby girl. So for those reasons, I cannot give it 5 stars but if they changed this, it would be a 5 star rating. Hope this helps.
I’ve used this for three kiddos now and it has worked every single time!! It’s a phenomenal app!
I highly reccomend this app as a parent of three kids of different ages 2,5,9. I have been a great addition to our daily curriculum. I love it. It has really help my child to read, comprehend, and communicate.
