Description

Plays commentary automatically as you drive so you don't miss any of the best places to visit, plus stories, tips and directions. GyPSy Guide’s narrated driving tour for the Going-to-the-Sun Road and Many Glacier section of Glacier National Park is an excellent way to enjoy all the benefits of a guided tour while you explore at your own pace. As you drive, your professional tour guide shares advice on how to prioritize your time at recommended “not to be missed” viewpoints, suggested side-trips and places of interest. Tours are filled with stories to provide an entertaining and deeper understanding of the region. Tours work offline using free GPS signal and location services, so no data roaming, network, or Wi-Fi is required while touring. Visit www.gypsyguide.com for route maps, sample commentary and tips and advice. WHAT TO EXPECT: Glacier National Park in Montana protects some of the most visually stunning mountain terrain anywhere, with giant mountain peaks, above tree-line alpine terrain and glacier fed lakes feeding alpine to valley length waterfalls. This tour also now includes visiting the beautiful Many Glacier section of the park, with terrific hikes and lake cruising available. Though the drive is only 50 miles, expect to spend most of a full day taking in the mountain views, alpine flower filled meadows and waterfalls. While the views are numerous, the pullouts aren’t. We’ll give you plenty of notice so both the driver and passengers can relax and feel comfortable about what’s ahead. The engineering marvels along the drive like Triple Arches and the Tunnels are visually impressive. The Many Glacier section offers a superb and stunning collection of views and activities. Hiking options vary from rewarding uphill efforts to Grinnell Glacier, or gentler loop walks around alpine lakes. Use the cruisers for the pure sightseeing enjoyment or to shorten some of the longer hikes. The tour begins and ends on the drive to and from Going-to-the-Sun Road, or the Many Glacier section, or join anywhere along the route. WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Highlights along the tour route include • West Glacier • Apgar • Lake McDonald Lodge • The Loop • Weeping Wall • Triple Arches • Oberlin Bend • Logan Pass • Tunnels • Big Bend • Wild Goose Island • Lunch Creek • Haystack Falls • Bird Woman Falls • Siyeh Bend • St Mary CHARGING: ++ Continued use of GPS/Location Services in the background increases battery usage. We strongly recommend taking a cigarette style (DC outlet) car charge to keep your phone charged, and avoid charging through the USB port. AUDIO: Listen directly from your phone or connect to the car stereo via Bluetooth. Avoid using a direct connection to the USB port of a rental vehicle as this can cause audio issues. The audio can play through your car’s Apple CarPlay and Android Auto display, please note that the map will display only on your phone. IPADS: ** iPad models must include a GPS chip. Please note only the iPad Wi-Fi + Cellular models of iPad contain a GPS chip. Wi-Fi-only iPad models have limited location service capabilities and are unable to play commentary automatically. DOWNLOADING: The apps are larger in size in order to work offline. You must download the app ahead of time over Wi-Fi (recommended) or cellular data. Once downloaded, you can tour offline without cell service. ABOUT US: GyPSy Guide™ produces award-winning narrated audio tours along scenic drives and road trips around the world. Our tours are enjoyed by travelers who prefer to set their own pace and itinerary on vacation, but enjoy a fun, informative and educational guided experience while driving themselves. Our goal is to provide a great introduction to the region and inspire you to learn more and return. None of our apps include paid advertising or placements for benefit.

★★★★★Really adds to the experience, even if you’ve been there before🇺🇸 US

I found Gypsy Guides on my fifth or sixth trip to Glacier and even having been there several times it was a great addition. Loved having David along. So glad to see there are Gypsy Guides for upcoming trips and wish I had known about them on prior trips. Pro tip: Make sure the app is downloaded while you’re on good WiFi. Make sure it plays when your phone is in airplane mode before you get off the good internet service. Dave gives you lots of heads up for turns or sites you might want to see. Really great enhancement. Thanks Gypsy Guides! Keep making more!

★★★★★My personal tour guide🇺🇸 US

This app is awesome! It detects where you are and narrates great facts as well as suggestions for stops. Loved it. Also bought the Yellowstone and Teton apps.

★★★★★Outstanding!🇺🇸 US

If there is a Gypsy app for the place you are going to visit - get it! Don’t hesitate at all. This app guides you in and around an area unlike anything else. It knows where you are, which way you’re headed, and lets you know what’s coming next. It gives history and background, and best yet once you have downloaded it you do not need internet service to use it!! Try it - you’ll Love it!

★★★★★Wow! What a Great Trip Using This App🇺🇸 US

I’ve downloaded a variety national park touring apps over the years and have even paid a high price. This app is the best. We were referring to the guide like someone we knew before the trip was over. Works in background as you drive.

★★★★★Excellent🇺🇸 US

Best audio app out there. Just took a ride in The Road to the Sun in West Glacier National Park. Used it in Hawaii on The Road to Hana. Excellent

★★★★★Don’t leave home without it!🇺🇸 US

My travel companion had used this in Utah and told me it was a must. She was right! It was almost like the narrator knew our questions ahead of time. Won’t travel a national park without it!

★★★★If you want to hear about the road...🇺🇸 US

There is so much natural beauty and interesting geology that makes up Glacier National Park, it is very sad that this audio tour spends so much time on the construction of the road and so little on explaining the geology, flora and fauna and history of the park. Disappointing.

★★★★★Don’t take the trip without Gypsy Guide🇺🇸 US

We stumbled across the app and tried it out. Loved it. Gave lots of insight on the trip and it was convenient to use in the car. The stories varied a little bit as we reversed our direction back down the mountain. We will try this for other parts of our trip.

★★★★★Love the app🇺🇸 US

We learned so much and talked to two other people who recommended the App. Is it Bob, Phil, or someone else? We love it!
