Visit www.gypsyguide.com for route maps, sample commentary and tips and advice. WHAT TO EXPECT: Enjoy commentary through all the best-loved parts of the National Park. Whether we are exploring the magnificent elevated viewpoints along Newfound Gap Road or the historic and scenic drive of Cades Cove and Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail, the tour will make sure you hear about all the best places to see and stop, so you won't miss a thing. Along the drive there are many stunning viewpoints and opportunities to see the famous smoky effect as clouds and fog rise from the valleys. Along this drive, we visit Clingmans Dome, the highest peak in the park and even take the walk onto the elevated tower from which 7 states can be seen on a clear day. Cades Cove sits in an idyllic setting, that attracted the Native American people and then the first of the European settlers. And be on the lookout to spot some of the Great Smoky Mountain's black bear population, as well as deer, elk and even wild turkeys. Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail leaves right from downtown Gatlinburg but quickly becomes a stunning, peaceful forested drive, with a couple hours worth of scenic views and old cabins and barns, and some of the Great Smoky Mountains best waterfalls. The tour begins and ends on the drive to and from GATLINBURG, TN or CHEROKEE, NC, or join anywhere along the route. WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Some of the highlights along the route include; • Clingmans Dome • Newfound Gap • Cades Cove • Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail • Laurel Falls • Morton Tunnel • Cable Mill • The Sinks • John Oliver Place • Chimney Tops • Mingus Mill • Gatlinburg • Cherokee • And many more scenic lookouts and photo opportunities CHARGING: ++ Continued use of GPS/Location Services in the background increases battery usage. We strongly recommend taking a cigarette style (DC outlet) car charge to keep your phone charged, and avoid charging through the USB port. AUDIO: Listen directly from your phone or connect to the car stereo via Bluetooth. Avoid using a direct connection to the USB port of a rental vehicle as this can cause audio issues. The audio can play through your car’s Apple CarPlay and Android Auto display, please note that the map will display only on your phone. IPADS: ** iPad models must include a GPS chip. Please note only the iPad Wi-Fi + Cellular models of iPad contain a GPS chip. Wi-Fi-only iPad models have limited location service capabilities and are unable to play commentary automatically. DOWNLOADING: The apps are larger in size in order to work offline. You must download the app ahead of time over Wi-Fi (recommended) or cellular data. Once downloaded, you can tour offline without cell service. ABOUT US: GyPSy Guide™ produces award-winning narrated audio tours along scenic drives and road trips around the world. User Reviews
I would have paid twice the cost! This app made our trip to the smokies. Gypsy was informative and entertaining. Now come out with one for each of the national parks. I would purchase more of them.
I had a strong signal but everything went blank when I was ready to hit the road. I did check for software update on my phone but was up to date. I reset the network didn’t work, I try other stuff and didn’t work. I wasted $9.99 but the sad part was that I could not use the application and had the experience I was hoping to get with the purchase.
Love this app! Very informative! Tells you information that is right ahead so you can pull off and take pictures or go on a hike!
This is the second Gypsy guide we have used. It’s like having your own personal tour guide and it’s so easy to use. We can’t wait to use it again.
This was our first GyPSy tour and we loved it. This is the app I’ve been looking for: we could drive around the national park and learn about park history, wildlife tips, and get recommendations for everything from easy walks to hard day hikes! Totally worth the 9.99–and this is from someone on a student‘a budget!! We can’t wait to continue exploring the US National Parks with GyPSy!
Just returned from Great Smoky National Park. Spent 5 days inside the park and loved having the gypsy guide along. We used the Yellowstone guide last year and loved it so definitely knew I wanted to use it again this year with GSNP. We call him George and love “George” guiding us around and giving us information and history. He always gets us to stop several places we would have never know. About otherwise. Gypsy Guide is worth every penny and then some. I will use it for every park it is available that we go to.
Overall pretty good. I had expected the guide to talk pretty much non stop. Might be a good idea for the guide to mention in the audio test that one the tour starts there will be quiet times between the commentary. Great for a solo traveler and I would definitely buy another tour for another park. I like how the comments synch up with the locations. There was one spot where one could really see the low fluffy clouds in the morning. I would recommend adding this info to the tour before reaching that spot “if it’s early in the day, check out the next overlook for clouds” or something along those lines. I’m glad I spotted them on my own and turned back.
Just returned from the Smoky Mountains, this app was very useful! We enjoyed the direction and educational narration very much. I would like to note that Cade’s Cove is closed all day on Wednesday’s though, not open at 10am like the app mentions.
We downloaded this on Day 2 of our 3 day trip... worth every penny! There’s more information in this ONE tour guide than we could put together from four tour books! Don’t get me wrong, this doesn’t replace planning ahead, but this elevated our experience in ways we couldn’t possibly have planned, or hoped, for.
Just returned from the Smokey Mountain parkway. A Full Day and going back. I just can’t tell you what a fabulous treat having Gypsy Guide as our personal guide. We have done every tour for Hawaii they have made and because of the guides it was the Best vacation!! Have a house in NC and decide to do it. No regrets!! So happy and such a great day!! It’s so informative, and interesting!! But I must also say enjoyable not annoying guide!! Things you really wouldn’t have bothered to do and you would have really missed out!!! If you are any where near I say it is a must do!! Looking for the Blue Ridge Parkway to be A tour you will do soon! Happy Traveling with Gypsy Guide!!🎉🎉🎉👍👍😊😊🙌🏻🙌🏻
