I purchased this app many years ago and only recently got the subscription, but I’m not sure it’s worth it yet. It’s been great at tracking food and my overall progress since the beginning. That said, there are problems. It isn’t saving my logged weight, specifically when I update it after I go back and change it because I keyed a wrong digit, it then reverts back to the previously saved weight. It’s also been randomly deleting my previously logged exercises. I don’t have autopilot enabled, it’s just not saving manually logged changes or updates to already entered logs. It appears to change it, but once you “Save” then close the app and come back, poof your logged entries are gone. Furthermore, it seems to notify me my calorie deficit had changed when it shouldn’t, I now have to discard that page every time I look at it so it doesn’t update my daily max calories. All of this has been an issue since the subscription. Hopefully this gets fixed because these core features being unreliable is awful and frustrating and I’m failing to see the benefit of the subscription right now.
it is easy to rely on this app. i. enjoy using it. so far 30# down. I used it to lower my sodium levels and got off high blood pressure medication.
Love the app keeps me on track and helps me stay focused with my diet. I like that it can also help me cast weight loss based up upon calorie intake and it even adds some cool recipes.
Easiest plan I've ever used. Best weight loss as well. Very encouraging resource for over all health
The app is easy to set up and supports GLP-1 use. The app will communicate back and birth with Apple Health. Use of the full functionality of the app is not cheap but worth the money. When you are on a GLP-1 it is more important to track protein than calorie intake and this app makes that simple. There are a few areas that need improvement, the first being that the app will not import any vitamins that you take even if they are logged in Apple Health. The second being that the app will only show suggested menu items for the current week. It really needs to show the current week and the following week so that you can pick up items for the next week while out shopping for that week. The third being that I am a pretty picky eater and I am sure that I am not the only one, it would be amazing if the app gave you the ability during initial set up to go and specify food items that you do not like. From their the app could create week menu suggestions based upon the users likes and dislikes. This simple suggestion cannot be that hard to incorporate. Finally it is to easy to accidentally log your food under the wrong meal because the meal remains open once you have logged food for that meal. If you don’t pay attention and don’t select the next meal it will log everything under the last meal that was logged.
I started using this Pro version again after a rest. It’s so easy to use especially with the scanner. I like the analyses and helpful hints. A food scale helps precision but it works well when you have to guess volumes. I like creating my own recipes in it since we avoid processed foods. I recommended the free version to several people who like it as well.
I purchased this to have access to features. It’s a little annoying that you don’t get that access and that the new features coming out are subscription only after I PAID for the pro version of the app
I've been using My Net Diary for 10 years. I started with the free version and upgraded to Pro. It has an amazing database of almost everything I eat. When I find a new prepared food with a barcode and nutritional information, I can snap a picture and they will verify and add it to the database within 24 hours. I love the AI feature. I can snap a picture of my meal and it will analyze it. It’s not perfect but very close. I like that I can track nutrients not just calories, too.
I’m disappointed with the app’s behavior and monetization design. Even after disabling subscription reminders and premium prompts, the app still constantly suggests features that turn out to be Premium-only after you tap them. This is frustrating and feels misleading. Premium-only features should either be clearly marked everywhere or fully hidden when the user chooses to disable Premium promotions. I don’t need AI tools, advanced analytics, or any of the extra premium clutter. I just want a clean food diary and recipe tracker without endless upsell attempts. The food database for Russia is also very poor compared to competitors. Overall, the experience feels unnecessarily pushy and overcomplicated for users who only need basic calorie and recipe tracking.
I like this app and I want it to work for me since I paid for this version. However, you should be allowed to avoid the constant badgering to pay for a subscription service for different things the app offers especially after paying for the app. That is actually pretty unacceptable. It would be best if you could turn this off. The whole reason I purchased the app was to have a calorie counting app that didn’t force a subscription on you. It’s really unfair that I paid for this and still have to deal with that. I would have rather dealt with ads on a free version than basically have to deal with the same thing because so many things you click on lead to asking you to pay a subscription. Not cool. If I choose an app that does not have a subscription fee then please remove the things that require one so I can use the services that are covered under the one time purchase fee and don’t have to keep being led to the buy a subscription page.
