THIS EXTENSION DOES NOT BLOCK NORMAL YOUTUBE ADS, ONLY SPONSORS INSIDE VIDEOS. Use Adguard along with this extension to block both types. It also only works on the YouTube website, not the YouTube app. Compatibility with the Vinegar extension SponsorBlock lets you skip over sponsors, intros, outros, subscription reminders, and other annoying parts of YouTube videos. SponsorBlock is a crowdsourced browser extension that let's anyone submit the start and end time's of sponsored segments and other segments of YouTube videos. Once one person submits this information, everyone else with this extension will skip right over the sponsored segment. You can also skip over non music sections of music videos. This is open source and the entire database is public. Permission explanations: Access your data for youtube.com, www.youtube-nocookie.com: - Used to modify the YouTube webpage Data usage explanations: "Authentication Information": When you install the extension, it will generate a random "userID" that is used when submitting or voting. This allows you to appear on the leaderboard and helps determine reputation of submissions. With this extension, you will automatically skip YouTube sponsors. I’ve been using sponsorblock on my PC and MacBook for years, and never knew there was a safari extension for it. While I wish it worked with Firefox (I know it’s an issue with Apple, but still annoying), it makes YouTube on iOS actually bearable. This + Vinegar + Adblock is the best YouTube experience you can get without more annoying workarounds.
Easily best in class for viewing YouTube and wanting to avoid baked in ads. Combined with uBlock origin lite, this makes browsing YouTube exactly like the old days with no interruptions. If you are tired of baked in sponsors, subscribe prompts and merch promotion get this and take back your time.

I was actually pleased to see there was a charge for this. Some free things are so great that you wish there was a way to pay for them. Welcome to the App Store! Even at 2.99 it’s underpriced. It works so well you forget you have it. Thanks to the community!

This is by far the most useful extension I use behind a password manager. I hate advertising so much I paid for YouTube Premium, just to have to watch ads anyway. Well not with this! Thank you so much for making this extension.
It works but with AdGuard you use their own media player and it doesn’t work with that. So it’s either block ads or block sponsors
I held off getting this for so long since I thought I didn’t mind skipping the sponsors myself. I was so wrong, this is so much better. Instead of having to tab out of my work for 20 minutes, this is great. Videos that have come out in the last 10 minutes already have its sections scoped out, the community is fast. So worth it.
