Description
Line Learner helps you to learn lines as quickly and easily as you learn a catchy song. Line Learner enables you to record scenes from plays. It allows you to listen to the full recording while you learn your part. You can then select to leave gaps in the recording for you to speak your part aloud. A prompt button is there to remind you of your line if you forget. You can choose to repeat individual scenes, or the whole play. With line learner you can record your script, and share it with others, who can record their lines, and share them back, giving you the ability to rehearse together even when apart. The app allows you to load up a script in PDF or Word format and display it as you record your lines. After you have recorded your lines you can alter the pitch of the other characters so as to more easily tell their lines apart from your own. Some quotes from some of our users: " I attribute much of my success to using your app" "Great app, really enjoying it!" "I say this app is damn near perfect!" "I really love your app and find it very useful."

Honestly has been a game changer for my career. Best memorization app ever. I’ve tried a couple but this is by far the best. Most versatile while still being simple. It is perfect! I also never write reviews for things!
False impression … buyer beware
I’ve used this app to learn lines on multiple plays (The Pillowman, Doubt, and more) and it’s been a life saver. It may seem tedious to record every characters lines but it’s an invaluable part of the process of learning the play. Once recorded you can run lines in the car or on a run. I can’t imagine tackling another production without using this app.
An absolute necessity--I LOVE this app! Easy to use, easy to program and customize, easy to share with other cast members--totally worth the $4! I'm off-book in no time! I use it for auditions, productions, character notes, etc. and share across my devices. It's wonderful!!
I use this app for almost every show that I do. For line heavy shows it is invaluable, especially in shows where you have lines that are just slightly different from each other so really the only effective way to memorize them is repetition. This app is perfect for that. The only thing that would help me is if we could have a few more colors to label characters and possibly a few more images inside of the color labels. Maybe an abstract shape or something that looks like an animal for more variation of characters. As we move into working with more materials, that includes non-binary characters. It would be nice that represents that in the tabs. Please tell everyone about this app. It is well worth the five dollars.
I switched to this from Cold Read and wow… this is so much better. More features, more stable, less expensive. Thank you LineLearner!!
How does this app get a 4.4?! (Probably because actors using it don’t know any better, unfortunately.) The audio technology used in this app has got to be at least 20 years old. I work in digital audio and can tell you that there are numerous ways to change the sound of a human voice besides just speeding it up or slowing it down. As for just a few of the many glitches - doesn’t play well while other apps are in use, volume is all over the place, ends of sentences get clipped (one of the updates claims this was fixed), stops when you open your phone, - I could go on. There really isn’t much advantage to using this app over using the voice memo function on your phone and just creating character voices the old fashioned way. The only advantage is that Linelearner automatically loops back to the top of your scene or play/show/script. (Not worth the headache) I’m old enough that I don’t mind paying for an app. I actually bought this one because I figured the free apps must be awful. I hope the developer will look into some of the current audio and coding technology going forward. I got so frustrated with all the glitches and bugs every time I attempt to use it that I gave up on it. I had to write this review as a catharsis. J/k.
This is a game changer for learning lines. Sure - you have to add the dialogue but otherwise, this app is amazing. After uploading the dialogue using the different characters, I listen to my scenes over and over (while running, while cooking, while walking my dogs). In this way, I’m learning naturally. It’s easy to use and the one time I had a question, the developer got back to me promptly. If there is a version to upload a pdf, it would be perfect.
I purchased the app and here I am 30 minutes later… STILL have no idea how to get my actual script into the app. How do you fail this bad with an app?
I’ve been using this app for almost a year now and I’ve been having major problems with it. When it works, it works great but so much of the time lines are just not said or skipped over. This makes it very hard to learn lines. I tried to report it as a bug, but there’s no way to contact support for this app.
