User Reviews
I have tried a few of the other one and none did as good as my excel budget. But this one may just take over. It shows a ton of details and has a dashboard high level overview. I love it
It’s a well built app that allows me see my assets and expenses across many different accounts.
Incorrectly showed holdings and returns (showed losses on strong increase days). Support was very slow to respond and not helpful at all. Cancelled after 6 months for a refund. Look elsewhere and save the headache.
Don’t know how I survived without it. Game changing, I bought it for both my kids and aunt too.
Pretty intuitive for tracking credit card spending across categories and budgeting. Tried using it as an account aggregator to have investment and retirement accounts included and it turned into manual updates every few days. The app can’t distinguish transactions between interest or dividends paid and reinvested. I have to fix it every month, which involves reclassifying latest transaction then all previous ones that get messed up. Same with contributions to retirement accounts. Again credit card data is fine, it’s when you add other accounts that becomes constant manual entry/update hassle.
My wife and I have been struggling to get a consistent budget for the household. Monarch has made the budgeting process fun, interactive, and collaborative. I rate this app 10/10!
So helpful with a budget and helps you save a ton of time too!
I really want to give five stars but can't because they cannot keep accounts synced. When you contact help they ask you to resign in which works 1/4 of the time and the others support responds back with canned messages like are you sure you own the account?? Mean while their sync status page will show issues with the major providers. You can do better.
The Goals portion of this app is what makes Monarch worthy of a five star review for me.
I absolutely love the platform and experience very issues with syncing but I absolutely hate the iPad app’s unnecessarily reduced capabilities and minimal investment in improving it. Over a year ago I requested that the reporting feature from the web version be brought to the iPad, which at that time was the only major feature missing from the iPad, and this month got notified that it has been delivered to “mobile”. After redownloading the iPad app, which I deleted for lack of feature parity, I discovered that “mobile” appears to only mean “phones” and not tablets. Super let down, especially given that now in addition to reports there are a bunch of business features that are not available on iPad/tablets. Not trying to throw shade, but if Monarch isn’t going to maintain feature parity between devices then they shouldn’t offer apps for them.
Figuring out how to adjust some transactions or payments so they aren’t in the wrong “category” is a little finicky sometimes but otherwise it’s an amazing app.
This app is great when it works! I have had issues with it logging duplicate purchases which takes a lot of time to correct. I sent a message to their customer service over 3 weeks ago and still have not received a response. The latest issue I have noticed is it has not been alerting me of new purchases for me to review. This issue also requires extra time to go back and check. I have used this app for over a year and overall I am happy with it. Just make sure you are checking all transactions for duplicates or mistakes. There seems to be no customer service.
