User Reviews
App doesn’t work at all so I won’t be using their chargers
The app is decent and functions well. There are some issues like sometimes it’ll freeze and crash. There are times when the app loads it’s very slow and you have to force quit. But what’s worse is their customer service. I recently had an issues where one of their stations did not recognize my valid membership even after multiple attempts. I couldn’t spend long as there were others waiting to charge so I had to pay the full price. I spoke to their customer service and they advised it wasn’t their fault even after I escalated. It was clearly a failure on their service and they eventually admitted there’s nothing they can do. I cancelled my membership and will advise others to be cautious when using Electrify America. You will get mixed results. I’m opting instead to utilize the Tesla Charging network. At least their software and charging integration is more well thought out and built better.
I bought a 2026 Mustang Mach e GT. No options for 2026. It’s May 2026 folks. Why are 2026 cars not added as an option to set up an account. I was told this app is premium but all I read are angry reviews and then see no 2026 vehicle options. Big red flag this isn’t regularly managed.
I’ve been using this app throughout 2026 and have charged at numerous locations across Southern California. Unfortunately, my experience has been consistently disappointing. The app is unreliable, frequently crashes, and regularly shows chargers as available when they’re actually out of service. I’d estimate that more than half the stations I’ve visited have had equipment issues. When the chargers do work, it often takes multiple attempts just to initiate a session. My breaking point came when one of Electrify America’s chargers became stuck and would not disengage from my vehicle. While I was stranded trying to resolve an issue caused by their faulty equipment, the system continued charging me idle fees and drained my account. Despite providing proof that the charger malfunctioned, customer service offered no meaningful assistance and refused to make things right. On another occasion, I had to plug and unplug four separate times before a charger would connect. After all that, I was charged $15 for only 8 kWh of energy, yet my vehicle’s battery percentage barely moved. Between the broken chargers, inaccurate app information, poor reliability, and ineffective customer service, I’ve completely lost confidence in this network. I’m walking away from the remaining $100 credit on my account and switching to Tesla Superchargers and ChargePoint. Electrify America had the opportunity to be a leader in EV charging, but based on my experience, it has become the most frustrating and unreliable charging network I’ve used. One star is far more generous than this experience deserves.
You guys absolutely don't take seriously that people just keep parking on the station and not charging their cars. I reported multiple times and no action. Plus multiple station like a whole station at Fred Meyer on Hawthorne (Portland OR) is out of service for months. By far the worst experience i have had.
I wanted to use this for a rental car, but I discovered in the fine print that there is an forced auto-reload option. This requires you to have a minimum $10 balance. Awful feature for someone who wants to use this once or twice. Why can’t it be disabled???
They hang up on me so many times they don’t know how handle issues, app is not working I’m waiting front of the station 2 hours I called 3 times no one understands
The app doesn’t work with basic iOS APIs for handling credit cards. You must manually copy and paste the card number into the app even if you already have it stored in Wallet. Needlessly adds friction when I’m trying to give EA money. Related: it’s impossible to add a card and auto-pay from the card, EA demands that you provide them with an interest free loan by prepaying and keeping money in their account. Not very nice.
Chargers are fast but systems are buggy. The way they charge you is also super annoying. Charge point is always reliable and plug and play but Electricity America is hit or miss.
Will sign you out about every week, and the sign-in process is extremely clunky.
