Candle: Couples & Relationship

I enjoy using Candle, especially the home screen widgets and most of the conversation prompts. The app does a great job of helping my partner and me stay connected, and I appreciate the intention behind it. One feature I would love to see is the ability to create custom question categories. Currently, the monthly check-in allows users to create one question, but it would be great to either create an entire category of personalized questions or have a way to submit questions for consideration in future categories. I would also like more control over the types of prompts that appear. Some of the more off-the-wall questions aren’t always relevant to us, so having the option to filter or customize prompt styles would improve the experience. Overall, the number of categories feels somewhat limited. If a couple spends more than 15 minutes at a time in the app, it’s easy to run out of new content. While I enjoy the app and it helps us maintain connection, I sometimes feel that my partner and I would get more engagement from playing virtual card games together over the phone than from using the app for extended periods. Expanding the prompt library, adding more categories, and increasing customization options would make Candle a much more engaging experience for couples who use it regularly.

Absolutely amazing

This app is phenomenal. It also saves our goofy fun photos that we take and share and offers phone widgets, countdowns for things we’re looking forward to and fun games which is great since we have different phones (iPhone/Android). The format, color schemes and questions are to die for. Best couples app ever.

App started out great with plenty of stuff to do, now every update locks more and more behind a paywall.

Very expensive but does let you get to know answers to questions you would never think to ask

The app is super cute for me and my boyfriend the thing is the camera doesn’t work sometimes. I’ve checked in the settings and everything is working and I’ve updated the app multiple times but the camera just doesn’t work. It takes the picture and then doesn’t upload I think?? It’s super sad. Everything else works great tho

The mini games and questionnaire aren’t that great. Also you can’t unsubscribe from premium via the app, have to contact customer support

This app made me pay a set amount per year per couple and then when my partner downloaded the app to join me it asked her to pay also

Absolutely impossible to get a hold of customer service. Tried to get my phone number changed to my new one and they responded once but then not after I provided the new phone number. Don’t use a phone number for to open the account!

I’m on day 24 with my partner. We love a lot of things about the app and getting to find out new things about each other. I do have an inkling that the devs possibly used AI to create these questions, though, which makes it feel a bit detached. The questions are also becoming repetitive, no matter which category we choose. I’ve also noticed that many times, the questions don’t line up with the category. Thinking we will switch apps at some point once we hit the end of the questions and they begin to repeat consistently. One minor irritating thing that I wish would change.. the streak pop up. Every time I click on a category of questions, I get the “day __ streak!” Notification requiring me to tap “I’m committed to them” button to continue. I know we are on a streak! It tells us as soon as we finish the daily questions! I don’t need a pop up every single time I open a new category if I already got the notification once.

Needs Apple Watch face!!
