Description
Canon Camera Connect is an application to transfer images shot with compatible Canon cameras to smartphone/tablet. By connecting to a camera with Wi-Fi (direct connection or via wireless router), this application provides the following features: ・Transfer and save camera images to a smartphone. ・Remote shoot with live view imaging of the camera from a smartphone. ・Connect with Canon's various services. This application also provides the following features for compatible cameras. ・Acquire location information from a smartphone and add it to the images on the camera. ・Switch to a Wi-Fi connection from pairing status with a Bluetooth enabled camera. ・Remote release of the camera shutter with a Bluetooth connection. ・Transfer the latest firmware. *For compatible models and features, please refer to the following website. https://ssw.imaging-saas.canon/app/app.html?app=cc -Operating System iOS 18/26 iPadOS 18/26 -Bluetooth System Requirement For Bluetooth connection, the camera needs to have a Bluetooth function, and your device needs to have Bluetooth 4.0 or later (supports Bluetooth Low energy technology). -Compatible File Types JPEG, MP4, MOV, CR3, CR2, HEIF ・RAW (CR3/CR2) images can be imported as RAW format by selecting [Prioritize Saving in RAW Format] > [Yes] from the [Images on camera] setting while connected to compatible model (iOS 12.1 or later for CR3). ・ Importing RAW (.CR2) format is possible with wireless compatible EOS models and some PowerShot models (G1 X Mark III / G9 X Mark II / G7 X Mark II). ・RAW (CR2/CR3) images are resized and imported into JPEG by selecting [Prioritize Saving in RAW Format] > [No]. ・RAW burst files cannot be imported to smart devices. Extract the CR3 images from the RAW burst file in advance on the camera side, and then import them to the smart device. ・MOV files and 8K movie files shot with EOS cameras cannot be saved. ・RAW movie files shot with compatible cameras cannot be saved. ・AVCHD files shot with Camcorder cannot be saved. -Important Notes ・If application does not operate properly, try again after shutting down the application. ・Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. ・In the case of using Power Zoom Adapter, please set the Live View function to ON. ・The images may include your personal information such as GPS data. The app never allowed me to connect to my camera. The app had a different instructions, then were in my camera. The app required me to create an account and give excessive permissions on everything from photos to my precise location and every network I’m connected to in every device I’m connected to. And yet never worked. Trash app that makes this function of my camera completely useless.
Connecting the app to the camera is always difficult. Wish they come up with better app.
It makes it so easy and you can do it right from your phone and your hotspot
The app was working perfectly fine at first. Now every time I take a new photo or record a new video it doesn’t appear on the app whatsoever.
“Sign in with your Canon ID to optimize your experience with this app and other Canon services. Receive notifications you are interested in.” It’s not an option. Why isn’t it a closed-circuit? GUYS! Immature, short-term, manipulative, disingenuous practices are ONLY A DETRIMENT. It seems good at first with the big checks, the control, and since everyone else is doing it, not only is it OK, it’s essential! No one questions it anymore.
This app is almost completely unusable for transferring photos to my iPhone. Across two different canon cameras they both normally fail to transfer more than 1-2 photos at a time. I’ve had the app for a little over 2 years so it’s not a recent update. The remote shooting feature is basically the only reason I keep the app, and even then it loses connection often. I don’t even have an old iPhone (16 pro) or camera (R5mkII) and this is at portrait distance, maybe 10 feet max. I’d recommend getting a card reader that works with your phone if you need to transfer photos while away from your computer.
Updated firmware. Now CC app crashes on opening attempting to connect to camera.
Full access for what?
After using this app I wish I bought a different camera. I have had nothing but trouble getting it to connect to my phone. I finally got it set up and working and when I pulled it up again it wouldn’t let me sign in. I selected the reset password and entered my email and it sent nothing and didn’t even recognize it. Now I am having to figure it out on my own since it is already registered. If you are low on patience don’t download.
Avoid using. Very unreliable. Forgets the phone and requires reinstalling frequently.
