Description

Dry Practice Drill is the best dry practice timer for the the iPhone or iPad. It is simple to use, and wrapped in a beautiful interface. The app includes all the drills from Front Sight's handgun training course. but the drill list is yours to customize. Add and remove drills, or tweak times as your skills improve. For each drill you are given a few seconds to prepare, then an audible "Ready" call. After a random pause, a short tone marks the drill start. You should complete the drill before you hear the whistle. Use the strings feature to automatically decrease drill time as you practice. We Include basic instructions how to complete each drill. This is especially helpful for complex drills like malfunction clearing. This is the perfect companion for your trip to Front Sight, and a great way to keep the momentum going afterwards. Hint: If you cannot hear the sounds, check your device's mute switch. ;-)

★★★★★Worked well for a week and now no sound at all🇺🇸 US

Why doesn’t the beep or ready sound work anymore?

★★★★★Excellent app, two things short of perfect🇺🇸 US

Works great, even better than a Pro version from the same developer. Two things I miss: “Duplicate drill” feature, and a good control to reset or edit par times (currently one needs to first place a cursor behind numbers to delete or change them and its too much for fat fingers)

★★★★Good, but could be better.🇺🇸 US

The app is good and has what it absolutely needs. But there are three features that would help it be much better. First is that it really needs to disable the automatic screen lock when running. Alternately it not pausing when the screen locks would probably be sufficient. Second is that it would be real nice if the timer didn’t start with the reset time. For example practicing quad loads, reset takes involves unloading and putting everything back on my shell carriers. I need 10-15 seconds for that but I’m always fully reset prior to hitting the go button for a new set and that just wastes practice time. Making it toggleable would be good. But if I have set up to do 5 strings, I only really need three resets. Third is the random start. It would be best if you could contain the maximum and minimum delay.

★★★★Why not Android Devices!🇺🇸 US

I don’t understand why this app wouldn’t be offered on the Android platform! Not a smart choice!

★★★★★This app rocks🇺🇸 US

Before I became a member at Front Sight, I paid $99 for their dry practice app, it came with a 2 day class. $99 for an app! I bet they sold 100 of them. Anyway, it’s not supported anymore. I’m glad I found this app

★★★★★Five Star - One Request🇺🇸 US

App is great and is exactly what I was looking for. I have 12 drills that I do on a daily basis. You can add custom drills which is really nice. My one request for a future release would be a “history” option where I could go and look back at what drills I was doing yesterday or last week, etc.

★★★★★Where’s the Tone?🇺🇸 US

So the app is great and has all the drills that Front Sight runs you through and great options to customize the drills for yourself. The only problem is that in this latest version the only way to hear the tone is with headphones. This needs to be fixed, no one needs the headphone cable in the way fouling up their presentation.

★★★★★Great par timer!🇺🇸 US

For those that don’t know, the built in times and tests match the defensive handgun test given at Frontsight. I’ve used this app extensively for myself and others training for that test. Love the flexibility and ability to add your own drills. Suggestion: option to have drills in a folder rather then all at the same level. That way you could organize for different tests. (Using Frontsight as an example, you could put in the times for the rifle course, shotgun, combat master, etc) Highly recommend the app have gotten a ton of friends to buy it to help prep for testing.

★★★★WTH? Timer starts before buzzer🇺🇸 US

What the heck? The timer starts at the make ready command, if you disable the ready command, then the timer starts at least a second before the buzzer goes off. This is a bug! Please fix it.

★★★★Awesome app! One major request though...🇺🇸 US

I am really enjoying this dry practice app. It is much more reasonably priced over its $99 counterpart. I can develop my skills, safely and for free (don’t have to buy ammo to dry practice). All that being said, it would be nice if we could download the drills so that the app could be used without internet. Some of the ranges I use are out of range. The app won’t work. I would love to have the timer even during firing drills. Maybe that function could be worked into a future update?
