User Reviews
Paid so much for the app and can barely use it because it constantly gets frozen on a screen trying to convince me to pay for a subscription to the app (even though i already have one!) so when i want to use the app or add new rules i often can't. Also doesnt enable blocking my apps unless i open the Brainrot app first, so it doesn't automatically block, you have to remember to open the app.
It was very good until I had to pay
Yeah this is entirely locked behind a pay wall, the art is ai and the reviews are flooded with positive bot reviews to help raise the ratings
I only have about 1 hour of screen time usually, I just never touch my phone. I thought I’d try this app, cause it sounds interesting. All the art looks like it’s made with AI, it looks vibe coded, and right at the end, I find out there’s no free version. Anyway, the botted reviews are only gonna move this down, thanks for reading
I should not have to pay to better myself in this way. Especially for an app that’s literally just the screen time feature on my phone.
I wanted to love this app. It is a great idea, the problem is that it genuinely just does not work. This app is so glitchy and has so many bugs it’s basically non-functional. The brain widget never updates and 80% of the time it doesn’t even block my apps, which is the ENTIRE point of the app. It also will continue to charge you after you delete the app and canceling your payment is difficult and done through an outside website. Not worth the trouble or money.
I was charged another $4.99 after I deleted the app already. I went into my subscriptions and it said I had no subscriptions to this app so im not sure why it happened. I may have to cancel my credit card.
I'm on disability and splurged my limited income on this app because I desperately needed help kicking my screen time addiction. Because of its alleged similarity to Finch, it seemed really promising. They didn't have a free trial, so I bit the bullet assuming it'd *at least* be a functioning app. it is entirely broken. It constantly glitches, frequently stopping all blocking features after selecting 5–15 minute breaks. Since I lack time perception, I end up scrolling for an extra 30 to 60+ minutes before I realize the blocker never turned back on. My screen time has actually increased SIGNIFICANTLY. Even without the glitches, the design fails. The brain widget is totally stagnant and impersonal. When you go into the app, it just repeats the same two lines, making it as easy to ignore as typical screen time notifications/alarms. Given the lack of interaction, It really doesn't do much to snap you out of a dissociative loop. I immediately recognized these issues and reached out within the first few days with constructive feedback, hoping for a solution or a refund. It has now been two months of emails to their site support, messages on the App Store, and even reaching out to the creator's Instagram. I have been completely ignored. For a paid app with no free trial to have a total lack of customer support is obscene. If they finally return my emails and help me, I'll update, but if you have limited income and are desperate for help, don't waste your money on this. (and if you're looking for something else to try, it's not perfect but Unpluq is free and has been the most helpful for me. You have to do puzzle-like tasks to grant more screentime, breaking the zombielike loop. If *functioning* Brainrot, Finch and Unpluq collabbed, it would be an actual game changer.)
You can’t cancel the subscription to this app.
