I read the Guardian because it provides unbiased, trustworthy U.S. news.
The app ran in the background at night without me opening the app or touching my phone. It ran in the background for more than 3 hours and totally drained the battery

The Guardian is the news outlet that I check first in the morning with my coffee. I want to know what is going on in the world and especially Europe. Furthermore, the Guardian covers USA politics quite well. Climate change is impacting our lives daily and the Guardian is not beholden to dirty energy companies.
This app made my phone warm and rapidly drained the battery while running in the background.
In a world where facts seem to be irrelevant in some circles, the Guardian is a stalwart of truth and a beacon to those who seek the facts to form their own opinions.
The reporters include evidence as well as opinion in most articles. The links provided give a worthy opportunity to go even deeper, to allow the reader to form their own opinion with more than an emotional preference. I consider our sustainable subscription to be a good investment.
There is no need to require an account to read an article.
Guardian of Worthy News
The recent update has caused a number of issues, including the lost of always on dark mode within the app setting. Happy to update this review when these bugs have been squashed. Don’t break what works with unnecessary updates!
The recently released update to the “Guardian Editions” app does NOT work. On my Apple iPad, this app’s prior version worked fine a few days ago. Today (5/27/2026), the app fails(it just starts, displays a blank screen with the dreaded spinning icon.
