Everything being premium now sucks tbh
Removes comments they don’t like, comments that violate there rules are left alone.
I would probably give this app 5 stars if it wasn’t trying to upsell me buying a subscription with the selling point of seeing who and where the sex offenders near me are living. Basically I feel like you’re trying to sell me information that is available and free. Trust me I already know.

Lots of left-leaning people on here that love to spew hate, crazy that they’re allowed to say the things they say…
Citizen is now advertising Pratt in California. That is out of bounds and shows the corruption of this toxic platform. The vast number of those who participate on this platform are clowns, bigots, racists and rage-baiters. Nothing feels 'safe' with this app and you'll end up leaving feeling the world is about to end...and it's the homeless people's fault...and Black & Brown people....or Trump people. It's sick and without formal moderation. As for performance: the marketing is so invasive that features have stopped working. It's next to impossible to record an event without it expecting a subscription. The 'developers' are out of touch; the app now requires your 'precise' location and will not operate correctly if you don't give it access; however, you can't grant access because the app goes to the wrong settings page in your iPhone. How is this not addressed? So I'm in LA but now get Manhattan when I click the map. There are also duplicate posts with conflicting information which make nobody's lives safer or informed. All these platforms seem so desperate to monetize over actual service. It's pathetic.
The (undisclosed but obviously paid) promotion of a mayoral race candidate not even located in my state disguised as a regular safety alert just drove me to delete the app. Why do I need a push notification about a candidate in LA discussing potholes when I’m on the other side of the country? That is not why I originally downloaded Citizen. Additionally, because I did not have location settings set to “always allow”, the app home screen has an alert in red that reads “Your safety is at risk without ‘Always Allow’ location enabled’”. This is fear-mongering and scammy. I still get real-time safety notifications for my neighborhood without “Always Allow” enabled, so I’m not sure why they’re so desperate to know my location at all times. You’re better off supporting your local news outlet. At least political ads on television have to disclose who is paying for them.
Now this is a political stunt. Has BB nothimg to do with what Citizen stands for. It’s not a danger or police activity or emt call or a predator close by. It’s campaign stunt about a fake pothole. Then to look in notes & see verified???? Then solved??? Why not cut the video & that persons his rights on app taken away?? He misused app. The video got a lot of your users to delete app. Everybody not political . If this app turns to that bs lot more people will leave including me. I feel wronged into this app & now it lets any video come through.
I’ve had this app for years and felt it was very helpful until they had an alert go up to give full attention to what amounts to a cheap and blatant propaganda video to a far right political candidate in Los Angeles. No equal time to other candidates was given. Deleted immediately.
This app is selling sponsored “events” to politicians and spamming it across the country. This is not focused on community and safety.
