Float Control: VESC Companion

Thank you dado for making this app. Many of us rely on this app to ride daily and it has served as an indispensable tool for riding safely. Wouldn’t be the same without it. A lot of us owe our complete thanks to you. And hai g watch support is also amazing. Being able to see all the information on your wrist just makes it that much better. Keep up the amazing work to you and all developers making riding more fun and safe.

It’s really a very good app, and very functional without a subscription. But charging a subscription fee, even if it’s just for a UI and it’s only $1 is distasteful. It’s not like netflix where the whole point is a constant feed of new content. I’d pay a fair amount if it was just a 1 time fee, even pay per major update, but to have money constantly siphoned from my bank account that i’m eventually going to forget about is unacceptable and I urge everyone to not give in to this.

The fact that the developer keeps making it better and better, is the reason this app is the best!

Voice coaching allows me to ride my Vesc near its limits safely. It’s way more reliable than trying to feel pushback when you’re not on smooth flat ground - but every now and then there’s an update that breaks it. I’m at the point where I need to disable automatic updates for all App Store apps just to make sure I get duty cycle and speed warnings on my commutes. It’s such a great feature it’s just a shame that you can’t trust it to work.

App is only getting better and the new icon is awesome!

Fantastic work by the Float Control team! This is not only my “go-to” app, it’s the only one I use to log rides, make quick changes and track stats. Watch companion is awesome!

It freezes on 10% while connecting to Thor400. No issues with Floaty (which is free) or VESC tool. Not sure why I paid money for this garbage.

I have used this app since I started with my first floatwheel. Now I’m three boards in and fell in love with the THOR/ Superflux motor combo. I just built a new p50b board with the THOR301. Everything on the board works, unfortunately I can only control it through Vesctool or Floaty because Float Control is only picking up my bms and vescespress. I wonder if I’ve set something wrong but the controller shows up those other apps. Need update soon and review will be 5 star.

This is a great app for safety, it reviews my incoming board settings and flags important items that I may have missed or set incorrectly. For instance, I went through board setup in Vesc Tool and FloatHub, and Float Control was STILL able to find some potentially unsafe settings. It also helped me troubleshoot an issue I was having and pointed me in the right direction (IMU issues). Even if I were to use Floaty, I’d still recommend connecting to this app when setting up a board just to double check. The interface could be a little clearer, it’s not always obvious what is a button or what can be long-pressed, but those are things you learn as you use the app. A+ for safety and thoroughness.
