Garmin 67i is a great piece of hardware but the software sucks, it should not be so difficult to use in this day and age. They need competition.
Most people use this service for a situation where having mobile phone service is limited which means emergencies and life endangering situations need prompt messaging capabilities. There is a major bug right now preventing use of the messenger app to your contacts. Your only option is to message directly from the device essentially rendering this app worthless. Garmin has sent out zero communication about this to users and as usual getting any customer support is dismal. I had to go find a cellular service area to try to troubleshoot this issue. Unacceptable. Hopefully someone’s life isn’t put in danger because of Garmin’s lack of accountability for resolving this MAJOR outage. Starlink, although a little more expensive, as well as iOS satellite messaging seems to be good enough to justify canceling this service. I do not recommend you keeping your service with Garmin. Your life could depend on it.

Awesome gear, totally worth the investment if you’re going deep in the backcountry with no service! Great to be able to check in with others and feel safe in the process. Doesn’t hurt to connect with loved ones for a bit. Definitely recommend!

I find that Garmin products are not worth the hassle and are not user friendly. They have literally driven me to CarPlay products and offline maps when necessary
How is it so difficult to activate a plan. A communication company should be easier
