The only voice I seem to be able to get is Samantha. She sounds exactly like AI and speaks too fast even at the slowest speed having her read a book is useless with her fast, nasal toneless voice. It appears if you want a decent voice you have to pay a month monthly fee. Unless you want to do this, don’t bother to download books unless you intend to read them and not listen to them

AI tools are nice but not precise. - Numerous pronunciation errors with common words. - Scan tool is cool but processing takes too much time. Basically, scan some pages, go to bed, wake up, eat breakfast, go to work, come home and listen to one of them. Go to bed, wake up, eat breakfast, go to work, listen to another page. - Free book collection is fair. Some decent options in there. - Paid books are more than Audible and other options. They are digital books that AI reads so pricing matches e-book market.
I am a graduate student who needs to read 4-6 textbooks intermittently for each semester of my graduate course. I thought that this would be a good way to do so. I signed up for the free trial and decided I would pay for premium if I liked the quality. Those first three days of my free trial there were no issues. It was on the day that my paid premium subscription began that I immediately began having issues. My textbooks were all in a permanent buffering state, even though I had them downloaded onto my device instead of in the cloud. I couldn’t listen to more than a sentence of a book without it needing to buffer for over half an hour. What’s worse, the app lost my progress in all of my books, so I had to go searching for my place in each one. I tried contacting customer support through a few different means but was ignored each time. I can’t help but feel like I got scammed, because there were none of these issues while I was on my free trial, but as soon as I paid for premium, I haven’t been able to fix these issues. Don’t recommend, there are better cheaper ways to get this same service that isn’t a scam.
This app has been amazing. They are currently having an outage causing it to not work, but they responded to me quickly to explain. It’s amazing being able to upload a pdf for it to read to me. I uploaded the copy of my textbook and have been using it to read to me while I read along and it’s greatly helping with my comprehension and focus.
I bought premium membership & only got to use it on one file successfully and then all subsequent documents kept saying “still processing” hours later. I deleted app, reinstalled it, shut down my phone but the app no longer works. Will be canceling thank goodness it’s still part of my free trial. So disappointed for those visibly impaired.
it keep on crashing, this time I upgraded my phone and gave it another chance, but scanning crashed in the middle if the book, than I tried PDF and it keep on stoping after few pages, completely waste of time trying to wait or restart. Nothing works.
The absence of a skip button for annoying celebrity introductions and welcome speeches is a waste of time for people who just want to hear their own work in a different voice.

I love this app, but I’m increasingly frustrated with how much more it bugs out. I’ve done everything to fix it. It’s on the apps end. I shouldn’t be paying this much for an app that’s barely usable
I didn’t get to really experience the app but the reason was the subscription maybe you could like add a free part to get to read some classics because i really love playaways but i don’t have any so i wish i could use this but i gave it three stars because of other reviews
I love speechify because it’s the best app that I ever heard on the internet
