Lightweight, quick to react, works offline. Several input ways, nice kanji suggestion and so on. Some rare or specialized words are not in the dictionary, but for everyday use it is good enough

You can write the kanji you are looking for the definition of, you can use Romaji to search it up, you can even find the word in Japanese from the English word/translation, and it even shows you the radicals for the kanji. Genuinely such a practical app

I use the app primarily on my iPhone. Because I use it everyday I bookmark a lot into dozens of subcategories. As a result the index/view of the bookmarks function gets troublesome. For example, finding the bookmark folder that one query exists within. Also, ideally there could also be a way to enter a new search without having to page back or clear the previous search from the search bar - like a reset/clear all for new search. Aside from that it’s the best dictionary out there. I’d be happy to get in touch if you need more feedback/details from a daily user!

This app is invaluable for living in Japan. Any word I see or hear and want to remember I can bookmark here and turn into a flashcard. The example sentences are incredible as well, and I hope more and more will be added.

Simply like this app. It’s easy to search, has example sentences, and also shows the kanji stroke order. Using it pretty often! Recommend!

I've been using this for the last 8 months. It always has the resource or words or anything in Japanese I am looking for. And it always held my back in my Japanese class. Thanks to the devs for this amazing app! Great job guys. Edit: It’s been almost 3 years, still this app is as great as it was. Totally live this. Kudos to the developers!

The most learner friendly dictionary

This is one of the best dictionary apps for Japanese. It has almost everything but a font change. I’d love to have the Kyoukasho font for getting used to a more written style and pleasing to look at Kanji.

Basically, I can’t even explain how this dictionary has changed my life. Truly, i think anyone who’s studying Japanese should use this app. It has almost every word with conjugations and kanji (with order of strokes and readings!) and even if there someone word the dictionary doesn’t have, you can easily add it by yourself in the list with personal meaning and kanji, for me it’s one of the most important things since some grammar points weren’t there. I also personally like that you can add notes to every word and add words to any group just with one click, so it’s especially good for people who memorize words better learning by categorization. Except lists folder, there’s also a “notes” folder that is showing all phrases where you left a note, I think it’s very convenient. And a folder with kana too, of course. And more about this, the app already has ready word and kanji lists with plenty of categories, I’ve learned plenty of phrases just by scrolling through these lists! And the idea of having flashcards there is also perfect, there are basically two ways how to do them, in typical way or with spaced repetition To be honest, i don’t even know what i could’ve added as suggestions for future functions, perhaps only more colors for interface or text (purple, pink etc) and maybe some function with tests for lists with words, but i just think it’s already perfect and polished, and i’m happy that the app is still being supported and improved after such a long time.
