The most learner friendly dictionary

This is one of the best dictionary apps for Japanese. It has almost everything but a font change. I’d love to have the Kyoukasho font for getting used to a more written style and pleasing to look at Kanji.

Basically, I can’t even explain how this dictionary has changed my life. Truly, i think anyone who’s studying Japanese should use this app. It has almost every word with conjugations and kanji (with order of strokes and readings!) and even if there someone word the dictionary doesn’t have, you can easily add it by yourself in the list with personal meaning and kanji, for me it’s one of the most important things since some grammar points weren’t there. I also personally like that you can add notes to every word and add words to any group just with one click, so it’s especially good for people who memorize words better learning by categorization. Except lists folder, there’s also a “notes” folder that is showing all phrases where you left a note, I think it’s very convenient. And a folder with kana too, of course. And more about this, the app already has ready word and kanji lists with plenty of categories, I’ve learned plenty of phrases just by scrolling through these lists! And the idea of having flashcards there is also perfect, there are basically two ways how to do them, in typical way or with spaced repetition To be honest, i don’t even know what i could’ve added as suggestions for future functions, perhaps only more colors for interface or text (purple, pink etc) and maybe some function with tests for lists with words, but i just think it’s already perfect and polished, and i’m happy that the app is still being supported and improved after such a long time. It has all common to rare kanji’s and I love it especially the detailes

No other app beats yours. However, it’s missing furigana ocr unlike kanjilookup and ひらがな

Just discovered this dictionary and it’s CRAZY. Being able to look up entire phrases, it gives you example sentences, all conjugation forms for verbs, there are kanji and words lists by level, you can bookmark stuff, and flash cards ALL IN ONE APP. FOR FREE. INSANE. Thank you for this!

Im using this dictionary since i came to japan. And it is almost more than 5 years im using.

Very thankful to have an option that doesn’t rely on network access for every query. It’s instant and works great in both directions. It’s also straightforward, without any machine learning fluff or noise like that. Always a better option than using translator software for anyone who intends to communicate meaningfully, be it an experienced speaker or new learner.

This application is absolutely the best created for the purpose. Perfect level of details when it comes to verbs/adjectives. Ample amount of example sentences, mostly smooth user interface. I wish developers added a feature/button to hide the keyboard. Otherwise a great app.

No joke. You NEED this app if you want to learn Japanese. Without this app, learning Japanese would have been more difficult for me.
