Registered Golf Genius players will find the free Golf Genius mobile app an exciting and useful addition to their golf experience. The app is also designed to reduce effort and save valuable time for the pro shop staff and league managers. Here are a few of the most important app functions: (1) Live score entry out on the course (scores can be entered by players or pro staff) that immediately updates full field leaderboards on large TV displays in the clubhouse and on the app itself; (2) access to the custom member portal where players can view tee sheets, results, statistics, etc.; (3) an easy and fast way to upload photos, creating photo galleries that add to the fun for any event; (4) mobile access for club pros and league managers to all events on the golf calendar, with dates, registrants, tee sheets, hole-by-hole scorecards, final results, etc.; (5) mobile, contextual branding exposure and messaging customized for corporate and charity outings sponsors, which translates into an attractive and differentiated “outings offer” and the opportunity for clubs hosting outings to maximize revenue. This app does not let me log into my weekly league but the website will. This app sucks
If a player drops out of a 4-person scramble team, the team handicap index goes DOWN in Golf Genius. In what universe does that make sense? Why would a 3 person team give up more strokes to the full teams? GG blames the USGA by stating that they are following USGA guidelines. That's incorrect. GG implemented the USGA calculation for a 3 person scramble tournament into their calculation for a missing person in a 4 person scramble. Not the same thing boys and girls. I've had a series of chats/email with GG support. After several times repeating their canned response to this obviously repeat question, one support staff told me he'd escalate the issue. I heard nothing back. Our leagues have had to work around by giving mulligans to 3-person teams. Still a sore spot in league play and a constant critique of Golf Genius by members.
Write out for setting up individual tournaments among your friends on the weekends easy to use
Too many restarts resigning in, repeat need for passwords. Just a dismal failure.
This app needs a standalone watch app for kids that don’t have phones and can still enter the scores on their watch.
Overall the app works very well. The main problem is that it will completely drain the battery in your Apple Watch over a four hour round and put a significant dent in your phone battery as well. There are other options out there that work pretty much the same, don't kill your battery and cost a lot less.
Ever since the new update every time I swipe to the leaderboard and swipe back to the scoring I get the instructions about how to do it. This is very ignoring. Is there a way to turn this off or opt out of this screen.
Having to have an ID makes the app cumbersome at best. And at worst, useless. There are more user friendly apps available for scoring.
After update just get the spinning wheel of death
