Learn to Skate USA has teamed up with Rink Tank Interactive to bring you the Learn to Skate USA 'Skate Coach' app series for iOS! The Skate Coach app series was designed to help skaters, parents, instructors and officials understand the standards set for the Basic Skills Program through the use of high definition video examples. The Basic 1-6 app introduces the fundamental moves - forward skating, backward skating, stops, crossovers and turns. Upon completion skaters will have a fundamental knowledge of the sport, enabling them to progress into specialized disciplines of skating. Whether in the comfort of your own home, traveling to the rink or during practice, you will always have a Skate Coach in your pocket! DISCLAIMER: Participating in ice skating has inherent risks, but with good technique and sound equipment these risks are mitigated. While the Skate Coach app series provides examples of skills performed correctly, they are NOT meant to supplement professional skating instruction! Improper use of the Skate Coach apps could result in bodily harm! Please do not attempt these maneuvers while holding an iPhone, iPod touch or iPad on the ice. This app is absolutely perfect for not only coaches and their beginner skaters but as well as self-taught skaters. The video demonstrations are well executed in a way gay you can see exactly what you are supposed to do! It’s also great for assessing where you are!
This app has really helped my daughter excel in the Learn to Skate program. She has been able to practice outside of class just by watching these videos. Very helpful and informative. Highly recommend!

Forget those $15 figure skating apps! This is the one you have to get! It shows how to preform all the requirements to pass the levels. Sense I got this, I have flew through all the levels. GET IT NOW!!!!!
These apps are great. Chock full of useful information and video samples. Easy to use if you're a coach or student. Groundbreaking app series that will continue to revolutionize coaching, but also allow skaters to have immediate reference to help them correct mistakes when not in lessons. Keep the updates coming!!!

As a skating coach, it's nice to have something where, I can show my skating students the skills we are working on and explain what the skills should look like. Thank you
Love it! As a mom who is not a skater, I love that I can see what the name of the move is and what is expected of my son. I think it is a great tool for all skating moms to have Great job!
I like the videos but I wish there was a drawing tool. Some of my skaters have a hard time seeing what I'm seeing and if I could point it out by circling or drawing a straight line on the vid it would help so much. It would also have been nice if after releasing the slow motion it would pause. Can't have my students see specific positions if the video goes back to full speed when you release the slow motion.
