Vlogit: Vlogs With Friends

Vlogit is a daily vlogging app for friend groups! In the app, you create private friend groups. Every day, one person in each friend group is picked to vlog their day, and share it with the group. Everyone else gets to watch, react, comment, and keep up with what's actually happening in your friend's lives. Instead of posting for everyone, Vlogit gives your close friends a private daily ritual: one vlog, one group, one day at a time. Your roommates, hometown friends, college group, long-distance best friends, team, or anyone you want to stay close with. No perfect posts. No public performance. No pressure to be interesting for the whole internet. Just your day, your friends, and the moments you would otherwise forget. Start a group, invite your friends, and see who gets picked to vlog today. Raw contacts are not uploaded to our server. When a user chooses to find friends from contacts, Vlogit first presents an in-app explanation and then uses the standard iOS Contacts permission prompt. If the user grants permission, contact names/photos/emails remain local on the device for display only. For contact matching, Vlogit normalizes phone numbers locally and sends only SHA-256 hashed phone numbers to our backend. We do not upload raw contact names, raw phone numbers, emails, contact photos, notes, addresses, or the full address book. The backend uses the hashes only to determine whether any contacts correspond to existing Vlogit accounts. Users consent to being discoverable through phone-number-based friend discovery when they create a Vlogit account using a verified phone number and agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy. A user is not shown publicly or to strangers. A user can appear as a suggested contact only to another authenticated Vlogit user who already has that phone number in their device contacts and who has explicitly granted iOS Contacts permission to Vlogit. No friend relationship is created automatically. The discovering user must manually choose to send a friend request or invite. Users can block other users, report users/content, and delete their account, which removes their account and associated discoverability data.
