User Reviews
I absolutely love this app! It covers ALL 67 Alabama counties and it helps out a lot and if there’s a severe thunderstorm or tornado or flash flood warning for ANY county in Alabama they will go on the air and stay on the air until the threat is over!
The interactive radar has not worked since day 1. The rest of the app is great. Hope they can fix the radar
Went back to Apple weather because the AWN and lock screen widgets never update. It will be daytime and 80° and the widgets still say night and 60°. I emailed support a few times and they haven’t fixed it
Love James Spann this app is awesome and works well. Only app I use for weather. Love the live video too. Just one thing I wish they’d add (even though it doesn’t matter) is time of sunrise and sunset. Besides that, 5 out of 5
I want to love the app and for the most part I do. However, it does have correct orientation when using an iPad. It also does not have correct orientation on phone when trying to view full screen. If you try to cast to a tv in full screen, you get a share that is rotated 90 degrees to the right and you can’t even watch it. Fix the orientations.
I love the fact that I can see current radar, weekly forecasts, check up on weather blogs, and live weather reporting from “the man with a plan James Spann!”
I’m a MS native who now lives in Chelsea, AL, for the last 10+ years. So, so grateful for Mr Spann and AWN! (And thank you Alabama Power for sponsoring the network!) I tell other folks new to the area to download the AWN app. After paying for ad-free apps for years, Alabama, you’re so lucky to have this amazing service available. Every state should be so lucky. 🍀 Mr Spann’s lifelong dedication to teaching children (and adults) about weather cannot be understated. I’ve seen him at just about every major B’ham event for a noble cause. Whether it’s guest judging the Chili Cook Off to benefit The Exceptional Foundation or Unless U Got Talent which benefits Unless U (look it up!), Mr Spann selflessly gives his time. (And God bless Mrs Spann: she must be so extra special!) Thank you for your dedication to making lives better and people safer.
Was sad to see James leave abc 33/40, until I realized they were launching this. Now you get the same great coverage for the whole state, regardless of which tv market you’re in. Other areas will learn to love him.
I have high respect for weather and the Alabama Weather Network for their severe weather coverage because it’s great for people who live in Alabama particularly those who just want information about what’s coming our way in regards to severe weather whether you’re from Alabama or not.
The app automatically displays in portrait mode. I do have the auto-rotate control turned off already and not other app that I have is rotating to portrait mode. I have rebooted my iPad and also deleted and reinstalled the app. What else can I do or is there a bug?
