(Should have written this Review earlier… ) The wait was excruciating, the Struggle to find a like suitable replacement for Dark Sky was a Long wait. But The Dark Sky OG’s are back Better than ever. ACME WEATHER is a Worthy Successor. I really dig the updated look and the few New features. Apple gutted some of the D/S’s original tech with their Frankenstein approach to Apple’s Weather app and ruined the whole experience, as well as somehow becoming often Inaccurate in the process. ACME Weather is both satisfying to use and reliable, all while presenting just how’s it’s done.

Thank you to the developers for putting this together. Works well, visually pleasing, love the notifications. Two recommendations - is there a way to link my home weather station to help more hyper localization? Also, as we recommend app to friends and colleagues, a link to earn credits towards our own subscription if they sign up for paid service.
Trying to use on iPad not great. Keyboard limited. Others do it.
Acme is a great new take on Weather apps. It eschews many of the foolish style-over-substance aspects of other apps while offering a great look of its own. It’s got great performance, and some of the visuals, like the single chart graph of alternate forecasts and the multiple layers of clouds are really useful. It is my primary weather app. All that said, I despise carousels and forcing a front-and-central horizontal menu on people is a very bad choice. There’s got to be a better way to present it (a vertical menu would be fine) and I think it was lazy of their designers to go with a hackneyed late-2010s approach. I also think that missing wet-bulb temperatures is a major loss. It’s a critical measurement of felt heat that tracks the body’s ability to cool itself, and it can save lives, especially for outdoor workers and those without AC in many parts of the world (including the US). I suspect it’s not available from many data sources, but showing it where possible would be a major advance in weather apps. Finally, iPad support. I’m sure they’re working on that, though. ;-) Overall, it’s a very good app with potential to be truly great.
