Sunday Lectionary
Screenshots
Description
This App is based upon the 1979 Book of Common Prayer (BCP - Episcopal Church) and the Revised Common Lectionary (RCL). The purpose of the App is to provide the complete Year A, B, and C Sunday Lectionary scriptures that are normally only listed by their passages. In the past, the reader would look up the passages in the Book of Common Prayer for the applicable Year and date. Next they would individually open their Bible to the passage to obtain the reading. By having the readings in the app database saves the reader from having to look these scriptures up. The database and supporting algorithms also provide a perpetual yearly calendar for all Sunday readings (forever). To select the Revised Common Lectionary (RCL), click the settings button in the bottom tab bar, then select RCL in the top right corner of the Settings display then click Save. You will need to close and reopen to app after changing the Lectionary setting. I hope you and your family enjoy this App as much as I have enjoyed creating it and using it for my own family.

Not working
I just get a blank screen now after the app opens. And there’s nothing to click on to use the app. It appears to be a discontinued app that I have been using for the last two years. The same issue is also happening with the other app Daily Office Lectionary. Disappointed that both apps have stopped working.
I just spent $.99 on this app and when I opened it I got a message saying database isn’t downloaded or update is needed. I checked the App Store for an update and it says the latest version was 5 days ago. Very disappointing and upsetting to spend money no matter how small the amount for something you can’t use. I hope this is fixed quickly.
As a pastor, this is one of my favorite apps! Will the app be updated to the RCL Year C (2024-2025) soon?
I have enjoyed using this App but recently on my iPad mini (most recent) it would keep on crashing…
I find myself needing to quickly see and read the scriptures for specific Sundays while involved in planning future worship services, but I don’t like carrying extra books everywhere I go. This week I’m enjoying and being uplifted by reading the daily lectionary for each day in Holy Week as my quiet time contemplation. God is love, God is good.
The app has worked great for years. Today, it won’t open, even after a reboot. Help!
Bug fixed. Working beautifully! Very prompt developer response.
This looks like it could be a great app if the interface was better: I cannot find a way to navigate to the Psalm, Epistle or Gospel. When I am stuck on the Hebrew Scripture Lesson I cannot rate the app greater than 1 star. Sorry. Show me where to navigate to other sections and I’ll change my review to 5 stars.
On initial install (iPad Pro, most recent version of iOS)… the app popped the “download the database” dialog and then the app exited. Attempts to restart the app cause it to exit, even after power off reset of iPad. Several days later… it just started working. It’s a miracle! :-). OK, not really, but the app does work.
