Living Earth - Clock & Weather

Was a really good app for many years. Had a very clean interface and nicely organized weather information you could bring up very quickly. Now it’s just a cluttered mess.

I loved this app especially the alarm clock feature until recently. I was previously able to choose a song from my music collection to use as an alarm clock. Then suddenly the alarm auto switched to one of the sounds that come with the app. I don’t even have the option to select music from my library anymore. I even downloaded the app on a different iPad. I also can only select from the pre-installed sounds and have no option to select from my Apple library of music.

Fave weather app for years just cause it’s so dang pretty and recently it’s been adding features that make it competitive with any other weather app based on weather UI features as well

I loved this app as much for the animated views of earth as for the weather information. The app is now so cluttered (especially on the iPhone) that I cringe whenever I use it. The uniqueness has been lost, and the beauty of the living earth has been traded for a redesign that hardly differs from that of any other weather app.

Like many others, I loved the app until the recent UI overhaul. It’s very pretty and looks nice, but the easy functionality was removed. It used to be easy to see the hour by hour forecast for the day by tapping and expanding. Now you see a graph with small numbers. The worst part for me is the tiny blue precipitation percentage numbers on a dark background. They’re not easy to read. I understand progress but I believe the changes made make this app weaker in what it did best: show the weather! I’ll stick around for a while hoping for some improvements, but I will likely switch to an alternative. Thanks for the years of a great app and what had been my most used weather app (in all seriousness)!

The pictured UI for the app is the old UI. It is was simple and expanded vertically to show two hour forecast blocks. Their new UI looks like every other weather app, busy with too much going on and not what I want. The earth part is still pretty, but it’s not the app I paid for…

Been using Living Earth for over a decade and boy am I happy to see that the developers are still on it and haven’t abandoned it. Love the new UI. May Living Earth live forever ♥️👌

This new release is still not working when resizing the window. Please roll back to a working release

Loved this app until the last update…harder to quickly check up weather for the week or day… very disappointed…actually, disgusted with the new update!! I wouldn’t have any other weather app before, but now looking for a different one.

App looked awesome before - nice and simple. Now they just copied Apple weather’s design - too much unnecessary info. Add feature for Classic design.

Not sure why, but they ruined a great app with their most recent upgrade. Layout is now cluttered, and busy, and requires scrolling when it used to deliver a lot of information at a glance. I can no longer recommend this app. Looking for a new one that will provide more complete information at a glance.

First, why wasn’t 4.20 numbered as 5.0 - the UI was rewritten (and poorly!) Issues w/ 4.20 revamp: - Detail weather page has redundant current condition e.g. “Scattered thunderstorms” AND “Thunderstorms and Rain”. Wasted screen space! - Now have to scroll past new *horizontal* hourly fcst to view daily fcst - Hourly fcsts are now HORIZONTAL… DISLIKE! I originally *BOUGHT* LE since it still had VERTICALLY expanding fcst layout. Most other weather apps have horizontal layout (or switched from vertical to horizontal) which makes no sense as phones are held VERTICALLY by default! - Daily high/low temps have switched positions … why make change just for the sake of change? - While viewing daily fcst detail, after scrolling the hourly section to right, then changing to next or previous day via left/right arrow, the subsequently-selected day’s hourly fcst remains in same position as prior day, rather than resetting to left-most time (12 AM) - New layout junk wasn’t updated in App Store nor dev’s website. Perhaps bring back the prior/better layout, or add option for preferred layout…?? - Several items differ between pre-4.20 and 4.20: High/low daily temps, Humidity, wind speed, Sunrise/Sunset times. Seriously? I will NOT update LE to 4.20 on main phone. Thankfully I tested it on old phone first!
