As a professional botanist, this app is one of the many loves of my life. It is so user friendly that I often recommend it to the landowners I work with. It is so thorough, and I love that it provides definitions to the highly specific words used in botany to ensure all have access to plant IDs. A perfect app
Carrying around the Radford manual is great. But you always have your phone! Up to date taxonomy, really easy to search cor taxa, PHOTOS, explanation of random botanical terms in the keys, and filtering by region. It makes this app a great tool to learn plants, key plants, remember plants, teach plants, and so on and so forth! Thanks to Scott Ward and all of the collaborators for putting the many hours in. And to Dr. Weakley for FSUS in general!
This app is by far the best plant identification tool I’ve come across. Intuitive, easy to use, excellent keys and information etc. it’s like Merlin, but for flowers! I will sing it’s praises to anyone who will listen. It might seem a little pricey, but it’s a onetime investment that will continue to serve you, and personally I want to support the creators so they can continue to make such excellent resources!
I’m obsessed with this app. Great for IDing native and invasive species. Helps tremendously with making custom seed mixes for native plant restoration. In the future, I’d love to be able to filter my searches for native plant communities - ie) species that occur in Piedmont dry basic woodlands, etc.
This app is a work of genius! It has great photos, easy to decipher range maps and up to date information on Carolina botany. Bravo!!!

Best app purchase I’ve made in a long time: Useful, trustworthy information with full citations and reputable sourcing (without being overwhelming to a newbie like me) Straightforward interface that informs, not distracts Full capability and access with or without internet connection (!!) No ads, no data mining, and NO SUBSCRIPTION (!!!) This has already been useful as we transition our yard to native plants. Seeing a new native plant for sale? Before, I had to spend 5-10 minutes of screen time Googling and comparing info from various websites to verify a plant’s native bona fides, figure out its ideal growing conditions, and picture its mature form. All that information is right here, immediately, powered by scholarly sources rather than crowdsourcing and/or ad revenue. 30 seconds to a confident decision: less screen time, less distraction, less decision fatigue. I can go on hikes and make new discoveries without connecting to the internet and navigating through ads, distracting rabbit holes, and dubious information. And in an environment where every little thing is a subscription, I pay just once for all this utility! Big fan.
