I like this app a lot; but there’s an error where if you try searching for tees and tank top patterns, it only shows sleepwear. Can you fix it?
Have been using this app for years and love it, but lately having an issue with adding yarn to project from stash. It just closes down when you choose link to stash. Hope they get this issue fixed because it was a featured I really liked about the app.
I’ve had this app on my phone for a bit and recently opened it to find a new pattern and was shocked to find incredibly inappropriate pictures all over the place. Men basically naked lots of dark demon like patterns. I don’t know what happened but this app is terrible and completely unsuitable for any kids at all
I use both Alpaca and another app to access Ravelry on my phone. More and more I am preferring the other. Often I cannot find my own completed projects. Searching for a new pattern works well enough but searching for items in my library or queue, not so much. Recently I could not even see a current WIP. And no forum access in Alpaca.
I love this app, but recently it has become unusable. You can’t open any PDF. I tried to contact support, but their website doesn’t load, and they aren’t active on their social media pages. I hope this app wasn’t abandoned
I love this app, I use it all the time. But some of the features seem like they haven’t been fully built out. If you want to save a PDF pattern file on your phone, you get stuck on the file browser view that doesn’t have either a “save” or “cancel” button, so you have to shut down the program to get out of that page. The same thing happens if you try to use the “markup” feature, there are no exit buttons so you can’t leave that setting without shutting down the program. Also the pattern search filter doesn’t work very well, the list of garment types often selects the wrong thing - i.e. if I select “sweaters” and then search, it shows me “tank tops” instead. Still, glad to have this Ravelry-connected app on my phone!
I love this app and use it frequently, but am also having a TON of crashes on the iPads…both of them. I add a skein of yarn and it’ll crash, I open a pattern and it’ll crash, I click ON a pattern it will crash. I really hope they fix it soon because this is definitely the best ravelry companion app out there and I WANT to use it.
Don’t expect to try and filter search results because even after applying filters they don’t work. I’m tired of seeing all paid patterns when I’m trying to find something for free.
It takes forever to upload photos, and it’s hard to get a new project to link to yarn in my stash. I’ve had this app for 30 minutes and I’m frustrated.
I love this app. I haven’t tried other apps that work with Ravelry, since this one does almost everything I want for free. I use this app far more often than the website. It’s super easy to use, and it has a more attractive interface than the website. The only thing I’ve wanted to do that I’m not able to is to favorite projects. Sometimes I want to flag a user’s adaptations to a pattern. I can do that on the site, but the app doesn’t allow that. Also, recording yarn info for projects can be a little weird, but I don’t have enough experience with that on the site to compare the two. For browsing, searching, and keeping track of patterns, this app is awesome. I use it every day. Even though I think the app could be improved, I can’t hold back on giving it five stars. And I’m so grateful that it’s free!
