Description
How deep is your voice? Do you have an undulating pitch or a low monotone? Our algorithm analyses your voice and compares it with data from over 150 celebrities to let you understand your voice and learn how to improve it. The Standard version of the app gives you a full analysis of your voice in terms of depth and variety and calculates a set of celebrity matches to give you a grounding of what your results mean. The Pro version helps you improve your voice. Currently this includes an on-the-fly pitch tracker - so you can practise different ways of speaking and immediately see their effect - as well as unlimited archive space, celebrity comparison graphs, and a charting tool so you can track your progress over time. We’re working to expand Vocular to other areas too. We want to cover things like smoothness, nasality, vocal fry, even creating a rating of how attractive your voice currently is, based on the latest research. If you want to get the most out of your vocal chords, this is the app for you.

This app helped me deepen my voice and understand how to make my voice more attractive. It gives you some good “biofeedback” about your voice so that, over time, I’ve been able to figure out how to use my voice to achieve a naturally more masculine sound, which is what I wanted. You can do the same to achieve a more feminine or gender neutral voice if that’s what you prefer. Hope there will be updates with more celebrity voice classifications and other additions, but as is, was worth the price.
Not useful at all, the description stated that there is an upgraded version, with lessons on how to improve range. There is not.
Really cool app, they need more celebrities to compare though! Hope they plan on adding more
I would give it a higher rating as it has made me aware of when I am speaking with too much vocal fry, but I find that the vocal range tends to be inaccurate. I am a woman who has a tenor speaking voice, yet the app will at times claim I have a contralto speaking voice. I know our tones in voice changes at times, but what I don’t like about this, is that it’s confusing. Even when I am speaking in my natural low voice, and not softening it up, I will still get a contralto. It may not seem like this matters, but I would like some accuracy. Other than that, the app is good if you want to practice sounding better.
This app needs an audio recording export/sharing option! Otherwise this is a neat app and I’m looking forward to what cool features the devs are working on for future versions.
I absolutely love this app. The features and analysis are excellent, and the quality of the recordings is one of the best I’ve seen on the iPhone. However, the only thing holding back what would otherwise be a perfect 5 star app is the lack of ability to export the recordings. Please add this feature!
I like that it calculates variance and use of vocal fry, along with all the other metrics such as mean/medium/mode pitch ect.
Neat app, but I am not sure how accurate it is. I am a coloratura soprano and this app classified me as a tenor lol.
I absolutely love this app, it’s great for improving your voice! I have nothing bad to say about it, but I would love if the celebrity’s had small audio samples of their voice for you to listen to, but other than that, great app.
I purchased it as people always say my voice is deep or that I sound like X Y or Z, but I’ve always thought they were just messing with me or wrong. With this app, I’m able to see in detail who I actually sound like from an objective standpoint, so it’s interesting to use as it lets you hear what your voice actually sounds like to other people. My only request would be to view the categories for everything. (IE It says “Deep/Extremely Deep/etc.”, it would be nice to have the ability to click the text and see where that stands in the list of pitches/rankings.)
