You’d think as much as people use this app they would actually have a good team that knows how to program and create an app. I mean you can’t swipe left to delete emails. If you have multiple people you write cuz you do prison ministry, you can’t have their back and forth emails in one section, it’s everyone’s emails all in one long list. So no organization at all. The app doesn’t alert you at all. It says that it has an option for alerts but it doesn’t. No noise no pop ups. Nothing. So you have to constantly click on it to check and see if you’ve received anything. You can’t go to one file for that person to see what all photos you have sent them. You have to go back and click each and every snap and send wait for it to load. The getting out app allows for one inmate you click and it shows every photo you’ve sent. Securus app takes over your blue tooth EVERY SINGLE time you click on it to open it. So if you’re expecting a call, listening to music, a podcast, it shuts all that down. You have to click off the app start your music back on and then click back on Securus. You can’t delete any of your contacts on Securus. But get this you can go to the JPay app and delete your Securus contacts from THAT app. Smh. I mean on and on this app is just so antiquated. And of course the annoying inability to edit your emails cuz if you try to select a section to cut, delete, copy or paste it takes you all the way back to the top of the email or just starts fluttering erratically. There is no option to hide blocked inmates in the text section or delete them. And of course if anything whatsoever offends the prison and your email or photo is rejected Securus does not specify which photo or which email has been rejected so you have no clue what you did wrong. All they do is send you an email saying something didn’t go thru and it’s in you to go back thru all of your stuff to figure it out. And good luck with that if you have multiple people you write. I get it’s the prisons decision to reject things but the Securus app emails you about it. They should atleast specify which email or picture. I got one rejected for security reasons and it was a photo of a painting! Took me forever to figure that out.

App won’t slope me to even sign n

I’m grateful for communication apps, but compared to GTL (and I never thought I’d say this), this one is just stupid. The blurring EVERYTHING besides a face on video is horrible. My LO loved seeing the house and dogs, now can only see a little circle of my face. The messaging is cold and impersonal. We’re texting, not emailing. Make it one thread with each person. Horrible. And the costs for texts and videos went down but the movie costs are extreme.

Freezes and locks. up all the time

the phone calls always cut off , i can hear it like if someone is pressing the damn mute button. the video calls are also bad , they dont focus and everything is blurry.

I’ve called over 20 times trying to get this app to work to speak / message with my Son and after three months I still can’t message him or purchase any stamps

Securus does what it promises. It makes sending messages to loved ones who are incarcerated straightforward and easy to navigate. The interface is pretty clean and the process is fairly simple. For staying connected with a loved one it does the job. That being said there is one huge flaw. For some reason this app does not send notifications when you receive a message. Even with all the settings turned on in the app itself, as well as on your phone there is no indication or notification that you have received a message. To me that is an issue because it makes the process of communication more difficult. It would be much better for both parties to get notified so the conversations can continue in a timely manner. It would help avoid any missed communications, especially when something needs to be addressed right away. Outside of that, this app is exactly what it says it is. Thank you for this service.

It really sucks getting charged for text connects and a lot of our messages aren’t even posting but we both get notifications of new texts! This app needs to be fixed! Also constantly getting logged out or network issue error messages!!!

I made an account & it will not go through customer service won’t direct me to an assistant every time a make an account it forgets my password how come. This app does not work need improvement I can’t get a hold of a friend.
