Great overall, but the glitching is still not fixed

This will be a five-star app when all the glitches are sorted out, but in its current state it's hardly usable! It frequently freezes up when scrolling through the knot lists, and the only thing to do in that case is shut down the app and relaunch it, losing your scrolling progress. I've also had it freeze during knot display in such a way that prevented me from even turning off my phone screen—in this case, double-tapping the power button to bring up my wallet gave me the escape I needed to shut down the app. If this were most any other app I had paid money for and I was dealing with crashes like this, I would be giving a one-star review and furiously requesting a refund. It is a testament to how well this app presents its knots—and organizes them so you can find the right knot for the job—that I have still given it a three star review. Hands down the best knot-tying resource I've seen yet, which is why the crashes are so distressing! After that gets sorted out, I have just one feature request: a button to mirror knots, just in case they're being tied left-handed or the line is going the opposite way around the anchor for whatever reason.

A wide breadth of knots and clear, in-depth information as to their uses and why. The favorites list is a life saver and I am grateful for its availability offline. This app has helped me more times than I expected

There’s one small detail that no one will probably talk about, this app works! whether you have an Apple iPhone or an Android phone and that is truly amazing!

I always found myself in situations where I thought, “It sure would be handy to know a core set of knots.” Usually, this would be when I needed to secure a load in my pickup bed, and ratchet straps weren’t available. This app has now made that possible. I’ve been practicing five or six knots that seem to be the most useful for me in my situations, but it’s great to have even more as backups. Thanks for developing this app and for passing along knowledge of knots!

This is a great resource for knots. I have used this countless times. The illustrations and animations are will done and easy to follow. The developer has continued to add content since the time I purchased.

Love the app look and design, but since the last app update it freezes constantly and randomly. Browsing through Knot Finder— freeze on random screen. Get to a knot you want to read the details about. Works. Touch the Video tutorial button. Freezes. It got bad enough at one point it won’t let the iPhone shut the screen off but I could hear the audible “click” sound pressing my power button. EDIT: updated my rating after Developer response. I’ll have faith it gets fixed.

I downloaded this app to start practicing for an upcoming competition that involves 28 different knots. I’ve used other apps prior to this one, but Knots IQ is most definitely the best app I’ve used to get my practice in! Also, the customer service is unmatched. I reached out about the app freezing up on me, and within the same hour DJ responded and was very helpful. I have been recommending this app to all of my fellow co-workers and friends that are trying to learn how to tie knots like a pro!

I love his videos on knot tying and they are easy to follow. The app however sucks. First everything is in olive drab and brown. That would be great if we were hunting deer or something but to show how a knot is constructed high contrast would be the way to go. Also the background is black so trying to watch this in low light really sucks as well. I was looking at the animation for the Bimini knot and the tag end appears out of nowhere and when it gets to the loop once again it appears out of nowhere and it’s not clear at all which direction you’re going with tag end. I would put up some images if it would let me. I love bear essentials videos and was looking into the forward to this app but oh my gosh I have three other apps that are way better I’m sorry to say. He should’ve looked at some other apps and got some ideas before rushing into a pretty useless app. Two stars

Love this app. It’s having everything with you in the field where you can practice and use each knot. I have been trying to learn how to increase my knots and watching bear essentials has actually helped me to remember them.

This kind of app creation and delivery with no data capture or sharing added to the value of knot taking make this app my all time favorite. It is like having my scout book on my phone.
