User Reviews
I’ve used TeamSnap for seven years and TeamSnapOne is a severe downgrade. The biggest problem is the Rosters in the App. I run a beach volleyball club with 48 athletes in my older group and 26 in my younger group. In the old app we could include photos of the faces of the players so coaches could identify players and players could identify each other to pair up for tournaments (beach volleyball is 2v2). Now we just get a circle with their initials. USELESS! We used to be able to add fields for position, gender, and number and could sort by first name, last name, position, gender, and number. I used position to create an alphanumeric code for each player. This allowed coaches and players to sort the roster identify players to pair up for tournaments. Now we can only add a number and the roster only sorts by first name. USELESS! We used to be able to click on a player to get all their registration information. This allowed us to access critical information for carpooling, partnering, etc. Now we just get their primary contact. USELESS! With a large number of coaches and players we need to identify players. Players need details such as age, height, and location to pick partners. The new app has so many fewer features than the old app. USELESS! I have had several calls with TeamSnap staff over the last several months. I have brought up all of these points at least four times. NO RESPONSE! USELESS! FYI I never write reviews but I am so frustrated by this new app. Why did they strip out all of the functionality? Makes no sense! USELESS!
Looks nice 👍
I haven’t used it as my link was just sent out so I may edit this but I do miss the ability to add it as a widget to my phone on my lock screen. However it appears to be simple to transfer information but I enjoyed with the old Teamsnap being able to just check at a glance when my next game or practice was!
Right when you open the app, most of the Home Screen is taken up by a home training ad to purchase. So many useful features have been removed from the app. TeamSnap was 5 stars, this app 1 star.
I’m having a hard time signing up or able to shop for Services because the app requires you to be in an active team What led me to the app was the official website that said that now you have to buy services through the app because the official website does not and there’s no phone number or a hotline provided
I have used this app for both my daughter’s basketball team and my son’s t-ball team. I can easily update the schedule, live stream their games, and chat with the team. I’ve used the new poll feature for parents to sign up for weekly snack duty! The practice plan content for both sports is great. The drills are engaging and fun for the kids!
After a decade of using TeamSnap as a head coach to help manage and communicate, TeamSnap One is a major step backwards. The platform appears to prioritize organization-level administration while completely overlooking the day-to-day needs of coaches. From a coaching standpoint, I cannot point to a single feature that is better than the previous version, and several core functions have been removed entirely. The most frustrating issues identified so far: No web-based portal Eliminating the desktop experience is a huge mistake. Coaches rely on it to efficiently upload and manage folders that include practice plans, shot sheets, and team systems documents, etc. Forcing everything through a mobile app is unnecessarily limiting and inefficient. No team email functionality Removing team email is another major miss. Chat is fine for quick messages, but it is not a replacement for structured, professional communication. Email is essential for sharing detailed updates, attachments, and important team information in an organized way. Overall, this feels like a downgrade in usability and functionality. Unless these basic features are restored, it is hard to see how this version meets the needs of coaches.
Who decided that removing some of the key functionality from normal Teamsnap to try and push training and live-streaming was a good idea? Can’t email parents, can’t manage volunteers / snacks. Just no utility. I need more than the chat to communicate with parents. Very frustrated. I wonder if they even talked to people that use the app before the update???
Beware that there are MANY issues with TeamSnap ONE that need to be addressed before moving your league over. First off perhaps most importantly there is no Web!! You can ONLY manage a team schedule using the iPhone or Android app….. NO WEB PORTAL is kinda just crazy. You expect me to match your entire team(or multiple) app alone is simply unrealistic. Huge miss here for TeamSnap.
Poor functionality. No ability to add emergency contact information for players over 18 or for staff without setting up the emergency contact as a secondary user on the account.
