Do not trust this app with your personal data. Nextdoor is actively violating california privacy laws CCPA/CPRA. When I requested to have my profile deleted and data wiped they refused. They are saying they will wipe account after a year but will hold on to data. To make it worse they try to force you to upload sensitive data like drivers license which I refused to do. They ignore consumer rights and use predatory loopholes to keep your data against your will. Don’t believe me. Read the complaints against them with BBB.

Never have I felt so strongly about an app’s email notification system that I actually felt compelled to write a review. This app feigns allowing you to unsubscribe from emails, but then you realize that there are DOZENS of email notifications that you have to manually opt out of one at a time. If you think you got them all, you get surprised with just ANOTHER topic that automatically has email notifications enabled. Nextdoor: do me a favor and please just wipe your codebase off the face of the earth, then blacklist every single product lead or designer or whatever person implemented your email notificaion system from ever working in the industry again. Absolute trash of an app.

Hi, I enjoy the app but it's really tempting to uninstall it because every time I open it, my feed is riddled with dog supremacy. It's like every post is about dogs and if I scroll enough, I just might find something useful that isn't. I've tried hitting "Not interested" on every single one, as well as hiding and muting the posts and posters, but I don't want to end up muting the entire neighborhood! Please please please add the ability to filter out keywords! I will happily rate 5 stars if so!

App is completely useless , will make you do all kinds of verification steps , took all the steps been a month still not verified , app tries to control what you can do. Worst app I’ve ever downloaded completely complicated always blocking profiles from posting or seeing dashboard. Would never recommend this app to anyone

There needs to be a filter to see just your neighborhood. I don't want info on neighborhoods across town. I appreciate the reply, but the filter still does not give me just my neighborhood. I want literally only my neighborhood, as it is so small the feed is over run with posts by nearby neighborhoods. I would like to pick my literal neighborhood only.

The app was working wonderfully for me until I was suddenly suspended indefinitely without any clear explanation. To the best of my knowledge, I have never violated any community guidelines. I have always been respectful toward other users and only used the app to connect with people in my area, as I am new to this city. The only unusual interaction I had was with a user who offered transportation services. Since I needed transportation to get to work, I contacted him. During our conversation, he suggested that I could pay for the service by buying him a coffee. I did not respond to that suggestion and chose not to continue the conversation. Because of this, I am concerned that this individual may have submitted a false report against me. If that is the case, I would like to understand whether reports are investigated before an account is suspended, or if a single report is enough to remove someone from the platform without evidence. I fully support the need to keep the community safe, but I also believe there should be a fair process for users who may be falsely reported. I have tried contacting support by email several times, but I have not received a response. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could review my case and provide an explanation regarding the reason for my suspension. Thank you for your time and attention.

Can’t stop the spam- you have to deactivate the email address that you used to make it stop they create new email addresses and new subjects so even if you haven’t touched the app in months or years you will keep getting junk mail from them until you either delete your account or close the email address Obviously I’m aware of identity theft, personal safety, etc, so I used Nextdoor (for several years) with my first name and last initial, and partial address - which is a HUGE share with thousands of unknown people in my neighborhood. A “team lead” was being remarkably rude and unprofessional to a poster’s simple question, so I made a tongue in cheek remark defending her - and insinuating that those attacking her were simply getting stir crazy from the stay home orders - BAM - account disabled for name policy. Seriously? Who wants to share their full name and address on a platform accessed by thousands and had a breach last year? I don’t introduce myself to neighbors with my last name and I certainly don’t share my home address with them, as Nextdoor requires to maintain a neighborly atmosphere (for some reason). I deleted the app after explaining the ridiculousness of their policy... although it was helpful for giving things away or notifying neighbors of unsafe situations.. will use Citizen now.
