Whop

I am incredibly disappointed with my recent experience using the Whop platform. I purchased a service from a creator on their marketplace for \(\$1,900.00\), which unfortunately turned out to be a complete scam. For over a month, I was strung along with empty promises, lies, and constant excuses about delayed payments and refunds. I documented and submitted all of this evidence—including the creator's own admissions and deceitful messages—to Whop’s Resolution Center. Shockingly, despite having clear, undeniable proof of the scam, Whop sided with the creator and denied my case. It is completely unacceptable that a platform hosting these transactions refuses to enforce basic consumer protection or hold their merchants accountable for blatant fraud. By enabling scammers and failing to review submitted evidence, Whop makes themselves complicit in the theft. I caution anyone considering making a large purchase on this platform; if you get scammed, Whop WILL NOT help you. I have since had to escalate this to my bank to recover my funds.

This platform auto removes 1 star reviews from users who are trying to write informative reviews for the sellers of the platform. Highly biased and recommend users continue to document and take action with an attorney.

Whop has to be one of the best user experiences I’ve seen for online communities and creator businesses. The app feels fast, sleek, modern and actually useful! Whether you are building a brand, selling digital products, or just trying to discover a new community. I’m excited to see where it goes!!

You’re fees are ridiculously high

None of the tabs have what they should. There's no way to refresh the screen. The mobile app sucks. Do you think they could do better for as many times as they update it. But has gotten worse this year with every update. Go back to how it was about six months ago and leave it alone

I’ve bought a couple digital products through whops platform and they’ve all provided value extensively and the most recent one I’ve acquired I believe is going to take me from 9-5 worker to business owner with the financial freedom to live life on my terms with my family because I’ve been able to build digital assets that I had to make once but they now have the potential to pay me a passive consistent source of revenue. It’s amazing.

Tried to cancel my membership, signed via Trinity Trading who did not disclose up front on Trinity Trading site that they would be an additional $12 fee

This app is a complete scam. I told them multiple times to stop charging my card, yet the charges kept coming through anyway. Now I’m forced to file chargebacks and dispute every transaction with my bank just to get my money back. Absolutely unacceptable business practices and terrible customer support. Be very careful before giving this app your payment information. I would not recommend Whop to anyone.

Say what you will about the groups or what not you join through whop, but the app itself is surprisingly bad for how simple it (should) [be]. Its glaringly hard to find basic information like your billing history. Controls are also very much lacking. Eg one group I’m in that has a staff member that is constantly spamming the group with upsells. Couldn't fine a setting to just mute him so I got desperate enough that I blocks him entirely. Imagine my surprise the next day when I start getting more spam upsell notifications. So I look around, he’s still blocked and idk how to proceed. From one of those messages I manage to find a setting to mute that groups notifications...A drastic but necessary measure...or so I thought. Imagine my rage when once again I get hit with a barrage of notifications YET again. After more toiling, I realize there is a seperate mute setting for EACH of the groups DOZENS of channels. There is no master switch (besides iOS’s for the whole app), or if there is, I can’t find it. And that kind of frustration often feels endemic to the app. Wish it wasn’t. Hopefully it won’t be one day, but right now it is. My only guess as to why is maybe they've tried to do too much with the app and are spread thin, but honestly, none of it seems that complex or hard to implement and its not like they just started yesterday. So, being that I don’t want to hypothesize that they just suck at what they do, I really have no idea what the issue is.

Tried signing up for a service, absolutely zero notification or confirmation except through my bank account that I got charged twice. They did not refund my money back despite me not receiving literally anything.
