Chispa: Dating App for Latinos

No matter what you put as radius, they’ll give you a couple and mind you I paid for this app but all the women I find are over 100 miles away. If you’re not willing to travel past 50 miles I wouldn’t bother…… this is an update! Man, I’m telling you all the beautiful women that you would probably be interested in our way over 25 to 50 mile range! It’s crazy. I got women but I’m not willing to travel that far for what that’s crazy.

This app has gone down hill. Its riddled with fake accounts and scammers. On top of that they have a community feature where you can post photos and its mostly the fake accounts and other users posting nudes. The chispa staff does little to nothing about it, really a shame because it drives the people who actually want to meet other Latinos away.

I’m not mad at the app, it serves its purpose. However one thing that has been need to be fixed for the longest is the range. I’m set to 30 miles, why am I getting profiles from 125-300 miles away? Fix this please.

I downloaded the app and when I proceeded with the steps to create a new profile, after choosing "gender identity" and clicking "Creating account," I received an error message that says "Something went wrong, please try again later," and I can't continue. It doesn't specify the type of error. Sad :(

Account got disabled without using and have contacted support no response if there was a 0 star option I would have opted to do

It’s a good feature and I could see why people would use it, but it would be nice to be able to disable it

Hiding profile keeps matches but makes your profile look blank to them, so they unmatch. Support article indicates this is how it's supposed to work, even tho pausing a profile on most apps simply prevents new matches. Also terrible that it shows proximity instead of hometown-- this isn't Grindr. That enables stalking, which is very dangerous. Also, can't contact support except through "contact us" button in the app-- which also, predictably, gives an error msg as soon as I tap it. The people I had most interest in unmatched me & I have no way to contact anyone aside from this review. I doubt the Match app has these issues. Please hire a better UX designer and better programmers. This could easily be a 4 or 5 star app, but is more like a 0 or 1 star app b/c of the way it undermines genuine connections. That's why I chose to give it a 2, even tho that feels generous for an app that wasted my time & energy. Do better! We have so few options for dating within our culture w/o being told we're a bigot, so make it worthwhile instead of a lazy money grab.

This app signed me up for Match.com without me knowing and charged me 4 times in the amount of $20. It was set up as a recurring bill.
