Hatch Sleep

1. Stuff is hard to search up, it never pops up (I stretch up ASMR and never find any even though I know they have an asmr sampler) 2. Buttons react extremely slow for some reason 3. Extremely limited for those who don’t pay, and pretty limited still even if you do pay 4. You can’t cancel one step of your routine for one night, you rather delete it or go through with it

The product itself is good but the app is pretty bad. If I try to adjust the lighting and then the sound or vice versa, the brightness or color or sound or volume will randomly change. This is super frustrating. And every time they put out a new app update it gets slightly worse. The latest glitch is that if I change from one of our chosen presets to another, it will change the lighting or the sound but not necessarily both. The old format of the app worked super well. I am not sure why they went away from that.

So wrong that you no longer have the story we want for free. It’s now $50 a year to listen to the one that helps my toddler sleep after he’s been listening to it for a YEAR. What an absolute scam

I just opened this. It is unclear what is included subscription free. You have to give your credit card number to use an alarm clock.

The clock works fine, but every few months the app just stops working, freezing on the opening screen so I cannot access the functions. When the only way to disable an alarm is to unplug the clock entirely, the product is pretty useless.

The last update was so bad that I now cannot use the app at all unless I uninstall and reinstall it every time I intend to open it. Each time is good for one interaction and then I get permanently stuck on the load screen! $200 paperweight.

We love the app and my kids use it every night! The routines work great for us and there are a lot of great sounds and stories that my kids listen to over and over. The thing that would make my experience so much better is if you could see all the stories within a category like Bedtime Story Songs in a list- there are a bunch of stories but you have to click the forward button or the back button to go through the songs and it takes FOREVER and sometimes I cant remember where a song is in relation to the song it is on. Sometimes I have to click through all of them to find the one my kids want. It is really slow to change to the next song and sometimes if you click too fast the song playing will be different than what it says. My kids wish to listen to particular songs and we spend so much time trying to find them every night. I wish there was a list below the Bedtime Story Songs category so we could just click on the one we want. It would also be nice to be able to repeat one of the Bedtime Story Songs over and over in a routine. My daughter wants to listen to the same song like 5 times before going to sleep and it would be nice not to have to change it back over and over. Despite this we absolutely love our Hatch light and it helps so much with our night and morning routine. My kids actually stay in their bed in the morning until their light comes on! Helps prevent early rising!

I really enjoy the Hatch+ sound machine, and it has become an important part of my daughter’s daily sleep routine. She listens to a sleep story every night at bedtime and uses a guided rest before every nap. Because we use the subscription consistently, we’ve discovered one major drawback: there simply isn’t enough content to justify the cost of the subscription. We haven’t even reached the end of our first year, and she’s already listening to the same sleep stories and guided rest sessions over and over. For families who use Hatch+ as intended—as part of a daily nap and bedtime routine—the content library is exhausted surprisingly quickly. I would love to see Hatch add new content much more frequently, including additional channels, more guided rest sessions, more sleep stories, more music, and greater variety overall. I also think there should be a larger selection specifically designed for younger children, especially ages 3–5. Many of the current stories feel better suited for older kids, leaving fewer engaging options for preschoolers. The subscription has so much potential, but to make the annual cost worthwhile for families who use it every day, the content library needs to grow and be updated on a much more regular basis. More frequent additions would keep children engaged and make the subscription feel like a much better value. I also have to mention that we deal with bugs and technical difficulties consistently with this app. It won’t play our bedtime messages, it will skip parts of our scheduled routine, the app will stop working altogether, and we to disrupt our daughters bedtime routine and go back in her room and manually touch the hatch sound machine to make it go to the next part of the routine. There are many opportunities for the app and content to grow!

Update: Frustration with the app has blossomed as I’ve now joined others in the reviews who have had an alarm just entirely not go off—light nor sound. Woke up an hour late for work with it still showing as set in the app. It is truly astonishing how unreliable a product at such an outlandish price point really is. Loved the clock itself but at this point the downfalls of the app have made it truly unusable I find using this app so frustrating, w which kind of defeats its whole purpose. Setting new alarms and unwind routines often involve glitches and starting over several times. Further, I personally don’t want premium features and basic functionality is fine for me. However, the app is nearly unusable because of so many locked features that you can’t filter out. For the price point of the clock that requires an app for basic use, I expected much better UX. I really like the clock itself but would not repurchase or recommend because of the app experience.

This has been an ongoing issue. I get an error message when I try to update my alarm or sleep schedule. It sometimes takes me 15 times until it finally works. Other times I just give up. Hatch sent me a replacement device and it still doesn't work. My app is up to date and everything. The device is not priced correctly at all - don't buy

The hatch device itself is great, but the app is always SO SLOW to load every time I open it. I’ve tried it with multiple WiFi connections and it is still so slow every time. It’s so annoying when I want to change a setting and I have to wait 5 minutes for it to even load. It also constantly forgets my hatch so I have to wait for it to sync to my device. Would give it no stars if I could.
