We strongly recommend taking a cigarette style (DC outlet) car charge to keep your phone charged, and avoid charging through the USB port. AUDIO: Listen directly from your phone or connect to the car stereo via Bluetooth. Avoid using a direct connection to the USB port of a rental vehicle as this can cause audio issues. The audio can play through your car’s Apple CarPlay and Android Auto display, please note that the map will display only on your phone. IPADS: ** iPad models must include a GPS chip. Please note only the iPad Wi-Fi + Cellular models of iPad contain a GPS chip. Wi-Fi-only iPad models have limited location service capabilities and are unable to play commentary automatically. DOWNLOADING: The apps are larger in size in order to work offline. You must download the app ahead of time over Wi-Fi (recommended) or cellular data. This app brought me to the most breathtaking scenic locations in Yosemite that were not described, or even mentioned, in my guide book! (Two are Taft Point/The Fissures and Washburn Point, both on the road to Glacier Point.) The narration is educational, and delivered in a friendly, congenial manner. Feels like he’s a friend traveling with me who is chock full of knowledge. As other reviewers have said, the app works flawlessly, even in areas where there is no GPS or cell phone reception. I am so grateful for this app. I have already purchased it for my next national Park trips.
This app was helpful to know which lanes to be in to maximize seeing attractions in the park. We loved the stories peppered in along the way. So glad we discovered this app before the trip!

Excellent value for the money. We were going to take a bus tour, but they were closed. Our hotel suggested this and we were very happy we tried it.
We were so glad we downloaded this and had Mr. Gypsy take us around Yosemite and tell us stories along the way. My 7 and 10 year old loved it, and even my hard to please hubby. I experienced the best Yosemite had to offer and learned so much, while also being entertained. I will not do another trip without this app!
Must have that application when you going to National Park for first time, please make one for sequoia and kings Canyon NP, with out guide is shutting in dark.
We have purchased this for seven different parks and it is awesome! Bryce & Zion, Yellowstone & Grand Tetons, Rocky Mtn, and Yosemite National Parks. The narrator is fabulous! He alerts you along the way with must-do stops and prioritizes others. In between, he gives short anecdotes about the geology or history of the area. His voice is energetic without being childish and the stories he tells are interesting. Every time we go to a national park, I look in the App Store for the GyPSy Guide for the area...it does not disappoint!!
Loved this app. Will look for it on all my future trips. Had it playing in car and every time it came on my boys got off their phones and shushed everyone so they could hear the interesting commentary. Very helpful info for Yosemite trails.
We have used Gypsy Guide in other parks before Yosemite. Didn’t disappoint. This guide is easy to use, has so much info!! It stayed with us no matter where we were in the park and allows visitors to really enjoy Yosemite without worries of missing something or getting lost. INVALUABLE!
Researching, I ran across the Gypsy Guide for Yosemite National Park. For $5+ what’s to loose. We were so pleased at the points he pointed out that we would have missed. Also he helps navigate at turns and major routes. After Yosemite we went to the hotel and downloaded the Big Sur tour, just as informative plus 7 have to ding dongs, so you don’t miss out. This tour was $9+, but worth it. Highly recommend this app
