Canon Camera Connect is an application to transfer images shot with compatible Canon cameras to smartphone/tablet. By connecting to a camera with Wi-Fi (direct connection or via wireless router), this application provides the following features: ・Transfer and save camera images to a smartphone. ・Remote shoot with live view imaging of the camera from a smartphone. ・Connect with Canon's various services. This application also provides the following features for compatible cameras. ・Acquire location information from a smartphone and add it to the images on the camera. ・Switch to a Wi-Fi connection from pairing status with a Bluetooth enabled camera. ・Remote release of the camera shutter with a Bluetooth connection. ・Transfer the latest firmware. *For compatible models and features, please refer to the following website. https://ssw.imaging-saas.canon/app/app.html?app=cc -Operating System iOS 18/26 iPadOS 18/26 -Bluetooth System Requirement For Bluetooth connection, the camera needs to have a Bluetooth function, and your device needs to have Bluetooth 4.0 or later (supports Bluetooth Low energy technology). -Compatible File Types JPEG, MP4, MOV, CR3, CR2, HEIF ・RAW (CR3/CR2) images can be imported as RAW format by selecting [Prioritize Saving in RAW Format] > [Yes] from the [Images on camera] setting while connected to compatible model (iOS 12.1 or later for CR3). ・ Importing RAW (.CR2) format is possible with wireless compatible EOS models and some PowerShot models (G1 X Mark III / G9 X Mark II / G7 X Mark II). ・RAW (CR2/CR3) images are resized and imported into JPEG by selecting [Prioritize Saving in RAW Format] > [No]. ・RAW burst files cannot be imported to smart devices. Extract the CR3 images from the RAW burst file in advance on the camera side, and then import them to the smart device. ・MOV files and 8K movie files shot with EOS cameras cannot be saved. ・RAW movie files shot with compatible cameras cannot be saved. ・AVCHD files shot with Camcorder cannot be saved. -Important Notes ・If application does not operate properly, try again after shutting down the application. ・Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. ・In the case of using Power Zoom Adapter, please set the Live View function to ON. ・The images may include your personal information such as GPS data. Be careful when posting images online where many others can view them. ・Visit your local Canon Web pages for more details.

This app can connect with my R50v but it run slow and has problems with firmware update all the time. I used Canon more than 14 years they still no good on the App.
I really like this app! It is easy to use and is also free! The only thing that could be changed is that you have to have your camera on to access the photos. But overall great app
I use Canon Camera Connect regularly, and my biggest frustration is how it handles Wi-Fi connections. When the app connects to a camera over Wi-Fi, it should immediately give users the option to continue using cellular data for internet access. The app eventually displays a “Use Cellular Data” option after connecting to the camera’s Wi-Fi network, but it often takes several minutes to appear. During that time, my phone has no internet access, which makes the experience feel slow and frustrating. Canon should either present this option immediately or allow users to set it as the default behavior. As it currently works, my phone connects to the camera’s Wi-Fi network and then loses internet access for a significant amount of time. During that period, the app can be slow to load photos and other online features become unavailable. This creates an unnecessarily frustrating experience. I’m updating my rating from 3 stars to 2 stars because this issue has been reported by many users for a long time, yet Canon has not made meaningful improvements or optimizations. The app works, but the connectivity experience feels outdated and could be much better. The app reliably works for transferring photos and controlling the camera, but the Wi-Fi connectivity experience remains frustrating and in need of improvement. thanks for your time
Camera stopped connecting after the most recent update.
I’ve used this app for nearly a decade. It used to work well, but the last 5 or so years it seems like it’s gone downhill. It used to connect to my camera automatically via Bluetooth which was half the reason I used it. Now, it only allows me to connect through my internet, and even then it’s a total hit or miss. I have to constantly remove my camera, reset the WiFi settings and re-register it just to transfer photos to my smart phone. Extremely frustrating. To add, without being able to use the Bluetooth, I can’t use the shutter button on my smartphone. Unless I’m home, and connected to my home WiFi….. feels useless. And yes, my canon has the option for Bluetooth.
This program is fantastic and such a convenience to have. I’m very happy with it and this very useful tool in my arsenal photo technology.
Latest firmware update done today 6/19/26. More the app crashes as soon as I launch. Unusable!
