Kin - Record Doctor Visits

This was my first opportunity to use Kin and I must say I am very impressed with the recap. I procured my physicians permission to use Kin and he gave me a very enthusiastic yes. I see this as a great tool and a way to be able to relax and confer with my doctor not getting stressed as I might forget something.

Kin has been a godsend for all of the medical appointments with our newborn. It has been so easy to remain focused while in the appointment, and then recall exactly what the doctor said afterward. The takeaways and tracking have been extremely helpful. It’s made follow-ups and next appointments so much easier.

I couldn’t be more thrilled with an app than with this. It’s invaluable! I have several doctors and am at the age where things get muddled and I can’t remember everything. All I have to do is title each visit with the doctor’s name and set to record. The app actually summarises and then expands each point if necessary. Instructions are given at the end of the visit so you don’t go out of the door wondering what advice you were given as you leave the office. It’s the best thing ever, whether you only go to see the doctor every 3 months or every week. Everything is recorded and ready for your next visit and you never forget anything ever again!! I have a hard time remembering everything that I am told during a visit but everything is here in black and white! No misunderstandings just the correct info. Everyone needs this app that has a lot of doctor visits.

Just downloaded Kin this morning. It was easy to setup and to use. I’m in the hospital currently and I recorded my first doctors conversation. Later another doctor came in and I easily brought up the previous doctors conversation and shared it with him. Kin seems to filter out non medical conversations and puts in the critical info very effectively. So far, so good and the app and service is free.

Really really impressed by how much this product changed things for me and my family. I get anxious during doctors visits and always go home not really remembering what I’m supposed to do. It’s great Kin has all the context that i do because it sits in the appointment with me. Also really appreciate their commitment to security and privacy, that’s obviously important here.

This app may collect audio recordings and transcripts of private medical appointments, and those conversations may be processed by third-party API providers. Before pressing record, users should know exactly where their doctor-patient conversation goes, what is retained, what is deleted, and how this free, venture-backed app plans to make money. Kin’s privacy materials raise serious questions. Does Kin delete the original audio after transcription? How long are transcripts, summaries, and backups retained? What exact data does Kin keep after each visit? Can Kin use deidentified or aggregated medical conversation data to improve products, analytics, or future models? Can that data ever be shared, transferred, licensed, sold, or used commercially? What happens to user data if Kin is acquired? Saying third-party providers are restricted from training general-purpose AI models on user data does not answer these core questions. Doctor visits can include diagnoses, prescriptions, mental health, reproductive health, family history, insurance issues, and other deeply personal information. The privacy disclosure should be impossible to miss before recording begins: whether the audio leaves the phone, whether outside API providers process it, what is stored, what is deleted, how long data is retained, and what rights Kin claims over deidentified or aggregated health data. Until those answers are clear, users should be very cautious about recording doctor visits with Kin.

An amazing product that helps put me at ease when my loved are seeing their doctors, so there is nothing lost in translation! Definitely recommend!

Has made it much easier to navigate the healthcare system with aging parents! Now, all I have is that I remember to use the app at appointments - has made communication between doctors, parents and myself so much easier. I couldn’t recommend an app more!
