Whenever I try to switch from Plex to another app by swiping from the bottom of the iPad, Plex crushes and entire system freezes for 30 seconds. Also, I’ve downloaded videos to watch it while I’m on the plane and guess what, I couldn’t. Apparently Plex needs to be connected to Internet to play downloaded videos! Seriously?! I was able to play when I landed and got connected to mobile internet. This app has become an absolute joke…
Do not recommend it only shows the trailer and not the movie
Every show I watch skips the next one in the autopay and goes to the one after it. It is extremely frustrating and as far as I can tell, there is no fix. The app is just becoming worse every update and I don’t know why it cannot be tested prior to it being released. Please fix this.
Decade plus user. Sad to write this. The live tv feature from the HDHomeRun is unusable on iOS. Randomly jumps around. Only plays randomly old segments of the show. Review is specifically for the iOS app. Not Plex as a whole.
I paid for Plex. My insistence that updates are almost always bad continues to gain merit. I do not want to have to use three separate apps to see my library. Let me continue to access my shows, music, and photos from one app. PLEASE.
This app is really great for watching movies and shows that aren’t normally on Netflix and other apps like Hulu. I especially love that it’s totally free, and the quality of the movies is amazing, 5 stars !!
Imagine forcing people to pay for Remote Watch Pass. This company has gotten too greedy. Deleted forever.
Plex used to suffer from terrible download speeds, downloads failing, and lack of info (for offline downloads)for the last decade. As of the last few updates they have fixed and added almost everything for offline downloads. Downloads now transcode fast, ask for settings before downloading, provide info during downloads, and now very rarely fail. Really excellent job! This is great! Keep it up! However, please get rid of the intrusive advertising for your own media. It’s my media server and my content; it’s the whole reason I’m using it.
The app is progressively becoming worse with every update. My episodes skip every other one during autoplay now. Very close to bailing on the platform. Sad.
I’ve been a Plex Pass user for over a decade and I am so sad to finally have to write this review. With so many streaming platforms out there, you would think the Plex design team would figure out how to make an intuitive media streaming and playback app. Sadly, the interface continues to be confusing, overly complicated, and often hiding or missing important features. The downloaded media feature sometimes works, and other times is a complete mess. The library is difficult to navigate and the playback controls are awful. If Plex wants to save itself from the open source alternative that everyone is flocking to, they should take a well designed app like AppleTV or Netflix and mirror how they do it. Also, PLEASE read your support forums and fix the bugs that your users are reporting to you! There are so many bugs that pop up in each new update that it feels like you must have outsourced your development to first-year programming students.
Goes everywhere with me. Provides entertainment for my whole family.
I’m being forced to watch political ads for Los Angeles when I live two thousand miles away. Besides the horrible ads repeatedly playing there’s not many good titles and way too many bugs like not saving watch history.
