Description
Dive Log is designed to work either as your primary SCUBA diving logbook application or in conjunction with compatible 3rd party desktop logbook applications. You can use Dive Log at the dive site or on the dive boat to capture the information about the site while it is fresh in your mind (or your dive guide's mind). You can even capture the GPS coordinates of the dive site using the built in location services of your iOS device. Details about your actual dive can be added immediately after your dive or at the après dive event and later be saved to your desktop computer. The dive buddy feature is fully integrated with Contacts on your iPhone or iPad, letting you capture information about your newest dive buddy or quickly add an existing buddy to a particular dive. The dive data and statistics features let you have an immediate answer the next time your dive guide asks how much weight you used on your last dive or have all the information you need about your dive history when you fill out that next dive waiver. Metric and Imperial values are supported for all appropriate logbook fields. You can easily enter values using the appropriate units for the situation and view them in your preferred measurement system. You can even explore detailed dive profiles from popular dive computers that you download with your desktop software and later upload to Dive Log on iPhone/iPad. Dive profile data can also be transferred directly from certain dive computers directly via Bluetooth or using a supported Bluetooth accessory and an associated in-app purchase. On Windows, Diving Log 6.0 (www.divinglog.de) is fully integrated with Dive Log on iPhone/iPad and has built in synchronization. Diving Log 6.0 has extensive support for importing data from dive computers and other dive log applications. On Mac OS X, logbook information can be imported to Dive Log on iPhone/iPad from a number of compatible applications using the free Dive Log Manager application available from More Mobile Software (www.moremobilesoftware.com/divelog-sync). DiveLogDT (available on the Mac App Store) can be used to directly import a number of dive computers and file formats and can synchronize with Dive Log on iOS. Dive data can be directly downloaded on a Bluetooth LE (Bluetooth 4.0/5.0) compatible iPhone, iPad or iPod touch from Bluetooth LE capable dive computers such as the Suunto EON Steel, Suunto EON Core, Suunto D5, Scubapro Galileo 2 (G2), Aladin Sport (Matrix), Aladin H (Matrix), G2 HUD, Aladin A1, Shearwater Teric, Peregrine, Petrel 2, Petrel 3, Perdix, Perdix AI, Perdix 2, NERD 2, Oceanic VTX, Pro Plus 4, Geo 4.0, VEO 4.0, Aeris A300CS, Aqualung i300C, i330R, i550C, i750TC, i770R, Apeks DSX, Sherwood Wisdom 4, Mares Genius and certain heinrichs weikamp OSTC computers as well as the DiveNav Inc. bluebuddy and Tech Buddy dive logger accessories. Supported Bluetooth LE accessories are available separately. Mares Bluelink Pro is a Bluetooth LE accessory by Mares and available for purchase separately (www.mares.com). The Bluelink Pro allows you transfer dive data from certain Mares dive computers (Puck Pro, Smart, Smart Air, Quad and Quad Air) directly to Dive Log on your Bluetooth LE compatible iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. Dive Computer Buddy (aka DCbuddy) is a Bluetooth LE accessory by DiveNav Inc. (note that the DCbuddy itself is no longer available). The DCbuddy allows you transfer dive data from certain dive computers (including models from Suunto, Oceanic, Aqualung, Aeris, Sherwood, Tusa and Mares) directly to Dive Log on your Bluetooth LE compatible iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.

As far as I am concerned, this is the best log book app for both recreational and advanced divers. It allows you input air, nitrox, and trimix data. It also syncs with multiple brands or dive computers, while others apps are brand specific. I am going to warn everyone: back up your dive logs. For a couple years I made periodic saves to icloud, and at some point got complacent and stopped making backups. I eventually broke my phone and lost years of data. Don’t be like me. I love this app. 10/10. Good customer support as well.
Been using this app for 5+ years and still the only app I use. I’m on my 3rd upgraded dive computer and each one works perfectly with the Bluetooth. This is really the only dive log you need!
This app does everything I could possibly ask from a dive log app, and the support I’ve received on trying to get all my stuff synced has been beyond unbelievable.
Since Apple Watch decided to dive I have been using it as my comp. When can we sync our log data’s from Apple Watches??
A great app for every SCUBA diver. Graphs of dive profiles for every dive. I can easily look back previous dive sites for my notes of conditions and marine life. Ever wonder how much weight you used last year? It’s in your log. Statistics can be categorized 10 different ways. Great support from the developer if you have questions.
I’ve logged over 200 dives with this app. Everything automatically uploads from my Shearwater Teric. This is one of the very few apps where everything is just right. The user interface is simple and intuitive. The app holds a ton of information about all my previous dives, and it is easy to access the data. And some of the features, like the map showing every place I’ve dived is just fun. Would 100% buy and use this app again.
Been using for many years. Compared 4 other log apps before settled on this one. No regrets. Nothing but great features, robust, BUG FREE (at least that I notice), always works easily between my ipad, iphone. Hands down but 4 thumbs and toes up. The Q&A forum is great. Have asked a few questions over the years and the developers are always fast and extremely detailed in their answers.
Pros: • Syncs across my Apple devices • Logs all the necessary stuff Cons: • Syncing requires manual push/fetch • Not user friendly or streamlined (lots of steps required for logging) • Kinda buggy, especially marine life logging (which I was excited about) Based on my review of other apps, Dive Log is still the best best for the most straightforward logging across Apple devices.
I don’t usually write reviews. But I have to say, I used this app for all my gear. I can log serial numbers, maint and inspection dates, due dates, pictures, etc. I did use another app for my actual log, because it was a royal pain to import logs. Contacted the developer and asked if it could be downloaded directly from the dive computer. Apparently, I come from a long line of idiots, cause that ability was there the whole time! It’s in the store (which I had never found, until) and I paid the extremely reasonable 2.99, imported a ton of dives, and deleted the other app! This is truely an all in one app! It works with all 4 of my computers, accepts the information from a pressure transmitter, displays a ton of info. You can add pictures (maps in my case) of dive sites. Add buddies, dive shops, etc. I really can’t think of anything or info that doesn’t have a place in this app! Very simple to use and complete!
I just started using Dive Log and really appreciate the simplicity and ease of use. Detail-oriented people will love all the options to enter all kinds of data. The trip option allows me to log many dives, but not need to write about each on. I can simply download dives using the first dive of a trip as the template and then all of the location and operator details, plus rank and other equipment are all done for you. Nice work Dive Log team!!
I have been using this for a really long time. This is a great dive log app. The developer regularly updates it and adds additional dive computers to the options list. A rare gem that has continued support where so many before have blown away in the wind. This developer truly loves this app and has continued to support it for years and years.
