Endel: Focus & Sleep Sounds

The worst app ever for what it claims to do. Apple already has fantastic built in sleep aids. Stopped working on AirPlay. The developers are manosphere loving pricks.

The ads have these incredible songs/collaborations that are not even remotely close to what is offered in Endel. Do better. This is a nitpick, but since the app is directed towards people with ADHD and other newer divergent oddities. The fact that there is a 2 to 3 second delay in playing anything that you change or select is irritating. Also, many instances when you select a sound to play Endel has their own little jingle/chime that they play before the actual soothing soundscape comes on. That can definitely be done away with because it’s almost enough for me to cancel my subscription and get rid of the app. ALSO - this is a huge pet peeve. Even though I am a paid subscriber on a monthly or a yearly basis to this app they cost you with continuous ads every time you open the app for their “lifetime“ access. Seriously. I paid for this app so the advertisements should be zero. Truly, I subscribe to YouTube channels that have more customized content than what you can do with this overpriced app that doesn’t even do what it advertises.

I’ve tried them all. Sleep and focus sound apps, calming this, relaxing that. Endel stands out as a game-changer. It genuinely works. I used to struggle with napping, but Endel has transformed my sleep routine. I use the smart alarms and they wake me up at the right time without a blaring alarm. I could sleep through a dump truck driving through a nitroglycerin plant (anyone catch the reference) but somehow the soft sounds of Endel wake me up. Focus sounds and the other scenarios are also excellent. If you have a connected health device like an Apple Watch or Oura ring, the sounds can respond to your heart rate and other vital signs. That’s but a gimmick, you can hear it. Give it a try; you won’t regret it. I bought the lifetime subscription while it was on sale I loved it so much

I really enjoy the 8D however when I bought the subscription I never did find any of the 8D sounds, not even 4D sounds, it was just the usual rain, static, white- blue noise, etc. not the 8D that draws you in :( and it’s so expensive, so many more could benefit if it was cheaper. People don’t realize if you’d sell a product for less many more people would buy it. why is that so difficult to understand?

On iOS 27, after playing audio continuously for a long period at night, the playback automatically pauses and has to be resumed manually. This issue did not occur on iOS 26.

The ad plays a specific type of music in order to get you to download the app. Once it’s downloaded, nowhere on the app can you find that specific sound or song . The app contains a lot of calming music and sounds that you can actually find on many other apps..

The art direction is beautiful, the sounds are remarkable, but the UI is unnecessarily complicated. Looks cool, a pain to use. Think like the user: someone is opening it to be met with relief of some kind, clarity. That's sadly the single reason this app goes unopened. The one thing holding this app back from greatness.

Bought a subscription but there’s just not enough on here to keep it interesting if I were to use it every day. Also I don’t love all the sounds. You can do better just curating a playlist on SoundCloud and then getting the algorithm to suggest stuff.

Update: issues continues. App is not Usable unless my phone is turn on all the time. If something taps my phone, if I get a call or text the music turns off. This is not how the app used to work. But for me to be able to meditate is impossible now. Waste of money to me now. Wrote a review talking about the issues with it turning off when getting off the app. It seems they have fixed the issue with an update or perhaps my phone was updating the app and that’s why it stopped working. For whatever reason it stopped working it’s now working exactly has it should and better than ever. They update the types of sounds you can have often of which the newest one is nature and it’s amazing to listen too. This app has pretty much replaced the other apps in my meditation cycles and allowed me to mediate in peace without words or direction. Allows me and my mind to just sync up and calm down. Definitely recommend

Have bad ADHD this helps

For someone neurodivergent, this has become a serious boon for my cognitive functions, specifically focus. I focus better during work, creativity, and exercise.

While I enjoyed the free trial, the app does not show up in the apple subscription and there’s no way to cancel or request a refund. I’m angry I was charged $119.99 and have no way of canceling via Apple as the FAQ’s state since it doesn’t show up on any apple subscription page
